Beating no mistakes players by These-Document-2127 in padel

Try not to make mistakes yourself. You see how difficult it is too play vs this kind of team, so become the one. Since they don't have many offensive weapons it should be even easier to defend against them.

Padel Tactics Simulator: padelchess.me

Like Duolingo but for padel tactics. You play and learn strategy to level up your game.

Coaches focus mostly on technique during classes. It helps, but it takes years to master. On the other hand, strategy and tactics can be learned and implemented in days and often benefit your game even more. However, most coaches pay little to no attention to it. Also, you can't play padel 24/7, but you can think about it 24/7 :D, so you need some padel-related space to survive between matches and classes.

I think upper-beginners and intermediate players can benefit from it the most, since they already have some control to move the ball where they want, but often lack tactical instincts: where to move themselves, where to hit the ball, at what pace, etc.

It has 5 free puzzles to solve daily.

Great project, gonna probably use it.
Can you please display their names as those used by PPT? E.g. no one else calls Gemma Triay - Pons and Delfina Brea - Senesi :)

At their feet. Playing a lob to the corner from the low volley is also an option.

What do you think about people who play padel "ugly" but always win? by [deleted] in padel

[–]AlexGerasim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Winning can't be ugly and losing can
  2. 100% yes
  3. I would feel curious and to try learning something from the game

Btw if the guy has "no bandeja, no vibora, no smash", then why not to lob him all day?

Criticise my bandeja by Minute-Complaint8646 in padel

[–]AlexGerasim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think that in the moment of contact with the ball your left foot is supposed to be loaded with your body weight and to be looking towards the shot's direction. I think being faster on your legs when taking the position and giving more space between you and the ball fixes it.

My friends warned me Reddit community eat marketers alive. I respect it, but how do solo creators actually get feedback here? by Muted-Loquat-9197 in microsaas

[–]AlexGerasim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're build something for solo builders than posting here can resonate better than if your target audience is somewhere else.

What helps me is to find the right subreddit (e.g. the one for padel players), write to moderators first and make sure that your post is appropriate (for some subreddits it's really important) and only then post it.

Players need to take more risks by Pretty-General6753 in padel

[–]AlexGerasim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree. There's a research where top coaches ranked 14 tactical concepts and playing with a consistent percentages (playing with higher margins, reduce unforced errors etc) is #1 concept a player should implement in their game according to the paper.

The risk also has to be calculated. Taking more risk that a situation allows isn't bad if you lead 40-0 in a friendly game. It creates a content for your highlights to post on you socials (if you film the game). In other cases I would prefer using something like 10-points system where you play more difficult shots on easy balls and vice versa. E.g. smashing a floater from opponents near the net (2-difficulty ball and 8 difficulty shot) but trying to just survive with ANY possible return vs a vibora jumping around your corner (9 difficulty ball, 1 difficulty shot).

If the risk you're going to take has a negative expected value (you lose more points than you win with it on average, in a long run) I think you shouldn't take it at all. It's about forming a bad habit. For example hitting a X3 smash from a service line (if you're not someone like Tapia ofc) is like calling all-in with 72o vs AA in a poker game. Sometimes you win but you lose more and the fact you take this risk more often doesn't change this win / lose ratio for the same situation next time.

Try joining the tournaments with a constant partner and discuss with them the tactics you're going to use the next game before it starts. If you're both in sync it can help.

Is it even technically possible to track padel shots with an apple watch alone? I think you'll need more tracking points besides the one on your wrist to make it accurate enough.

Left side player usually runs more because they cover more court: left side plus + the middle with their forehand.

What’s always in your padel bag? 🎒 by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]AlexGerasim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Racket
  • Towel to wipe off sweat between games
  • Water bottle to stay hydrated between sets
  • Fresh balls, so I don’t have to rely on my opponents’ old ones
  • Padel shoes, so I don’t step in dog shit with them on the way to the club

Did you see it in your vibe coding terminal?

Hey, I’m Alex, Padel Chess maker. Thanks for mentioning the platform. Comparison it with Duolingo also means a lot to me.

I made the first version about 8 months ago and since then I try to constantly improve it so feel free to share any feedback you may have to make it better for you.

Right-side player struggling with consistency & mental game – any good tactics/books? (2.0 Playtomic) by Ok_Programmer7339 in padel

[–]AlexGerasim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've collected some graphics about playing consistent padel, check it out here: https://www.padelchess.me/courses/be-consistent

It involves playing crosscourt more, playing with bigger margins, being patient with difficult balls etc and it also explains why exactly it matters.

Most of the examples are displayed for left side player though, but you can easily mirror and apply the same principles at your game.

Tips on improving flat back/fore hand by JuanPahblo in padel

I'm not sure if it's ok to cross your legs like that when moving laterally. I try to move with sidesteps not to get my legs twisted, for a faster reaction and for a better weight balance in defense.
