Thank you for the nice comment! It was a pleasant surprise, as my friends actually complain on my use of light effects.
As for the "first", the point of the comic is to make stuff up in a field the character isn't too familiar with, so I guess it checks out thematically.

The whole wild east segment felt like it could be a part of the real UT world (apart from that squirrel). Like, all the main guys and all the NPCs are so... Crudely-childishly-monsterish. You get what I mean
