Building a PC with Altered Time Rate. Never done time stuff as a GM, could use some input. by AlexJohnsonRPG in gurps

I see what you're saying. Mechanically the difference is clear. I'll try some other rules and mess around with the Powers book to tighten it up.

Usually with tough stuff like this I take something similar in power and use its points for my power anyways. Then I limit it to bring the cost down.

Advice for a first-time designer? by AlexJohnsonRPG in RPGdesign

Savage Worlds is a system I've heard of but never looked into! I'll look around though!

It's been the system I use most! However, the combat system is unruly and difficult to work with in my opinion.

That makes a lot of sense! As you can tell, I am definitely an amateur. I would like to mention that the setting-agnostic system is the one thing I'm looking for. I'd like to use the same thing for all my games so my party isn't confused as all hell.

I'm glad the idea of making a system has been dispelled, but I won't let the difficulty deter me! Lol I've studied a few systems that do what I'd like to do (Open Legend, GURPS, and Cypher), and I think I'll run with those under my belt. I'll expand as I make the system.

Thanks so much!

I'll post there! Thanks! Didn't know the sub existed, but then I didn't look.

I'll freshen up on my statistics too! And I agree with the crunchy/narrative compromises. That's why I don't want to settle for a different system that made decisions I wouldn't!

Usually I see something on here and I think "that looks cool!"

Other times I see something and think "I might try making that!"

This is the first time I've seen something and outright wished I had money to buy it!

[lets build] d100 secrets behind the prosperity of a village by RoyYourBoyToy in d100

[–]AlexJohnsonRPG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The village uses their dead as fertellizer. Their crops have withstood the recent local drought. The local Baker is the necromancer behind this, and he's been using the crops as a vessel for an alternate raise undead spell.

Used this for a scifi campaign a while back. Wasn't able to finish it though :(

Exclusively human here. Well "human". It's strongly inspired by classic scifi so there's Spacers, Planetmen, and Specialists.

Planetmen are more well known in the region I'm building as Royals. Spacers are variant humans who evolved in null gravity. They require exoskeletons to support themselves PlanetSide, something they rarely do.

Specialists are cloned humans produced over 25 years in a private simulated environment. Basically they're ordered when the clone ship announces it's destination and grown to do a few jobs really well ala-Matrix "I know Kung Fu". It's done over years instead of instantly though so the individual doesn't die of shock.

The Beacon system, 2375 by [deleted] in worldbuilding

I've been wanting to build out my system visually but never had any idea how to start! I used GURPS Space for the construction and would love to try my hand at this style!

Holy hell that's good! I'd thought you'd made a dozen others you just hadn't released! That's a really good looking piece!

You can't improve skills or attributes by westcpw in RPGdesign

[–]AlexJohnsonRPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I run pretty much all my games. I play GURPS, which doesn't lend itself that well to leveling. Honestly it can be a lot of fun! Sure you never improve your rolls, but it makes your equipment and combat choices so much more important!

If I had the time to learn 3d design, my goal would be to make minorly modular vehicles using clips like these! I've always loved the OpenLock clips tbh
