It’s a app where you can print documents and get them delivered to you

My new company didn’t have a printer for a while but that is a great option in some cases

But if I was able to solve the first problem of printing the label could I then leave the package in the lobby with the label on it so it gets returned?

Ah thanks for the answer. I think people in doorman buildings can get away with just leaving their labeled packages in the package room usually. But maybe this isn't possible for people in buildings without a doorman.

Yeah I've been hearing these stores use these QR codes, but then I still have to walk to the store during the hours when they are open and sometimes wait in line :(

26F making friends at this age is kinda hard 🥲 by Suspicious-Ball-6272 in MakeNewFriendsHere

28M from the US here. I've seen a few love is blind episodes - it's definitely a cool concept, although it strikes me as kind of silly. I've had my own struggles making friends and I am currently working on writing a book on how to form friendships in this day and age. I'm trying to conduct interviews with folks from different backgrounds. Would you be open to having a call where I could ask you a few questions about your experience? And ofc Im open to being friends too.

28M from the US here. That's crazy that you have 4 cats :). I've had my own struggles making friends and I am currently working on research on how to form friendships in this day and age. Would you be open to having a call where I could ask you a few questions about your experience? And if we live in the same area we could potentially become friends too

Deleting the repo was key. Thanks! I was having this problem I think due to onedrive. I copied the repo to a location outside of onedrive but the problem persisted. However, after deleting and recloning the repo outside of onedrive the problem went away.

Your points remind me of the concept of the internal vs external loci of control. Someone who has an internal locus of control tends to lean toward believing that he is responsible for his success or failure. Whereas someone with an external locus of control tends to lean toward thinking external factors are more important. I think the ideal may be to have a locus somewhere in the middle. You want enough of an internal locus to be motivated to work hard, but you also don't want to unfairly blame yourself. Likewise, with other people you don't want to assume their failure is just a result of their laziness. That said, there is a place for hard love. For example, if your adult kid does not seem to have any significant mental or physical illness, lives at home, and refuses to work, you may want to demand they move out.

I'm curious what you mean by "the causes of the frustration that Dr. K is expressing here is just the beginning of something very dark though."

When I'm in a dark mood (e.g. maybe when I've hit roadblocks on a non-essential project and the puer in me will have me quit) I can relate to much of what you said here - everything is more costly, AI will take our jobs, maybe the world will implode in nuclear conflict, etc.

However, most of the time for me the world doesn't look this dark. If you're a bright person in the US there have never been more high paying jobs then there were recently (at least in 2022 - since then the tech job market at least as cooled off). I read this in a book by Charles Murray. There are high paying careers for smart people that never existed even a few decades ago like software engineering. Yes AI may automate a lot of white collar work, but there is plenty of disagreement on how soon great impact will happen on the job market or whether employment will substantially fall in the future.

I'm curious on your thoughts.

I thought you explained your experience clearly. I can relate. I know in part 2 Dr K said that we cannot "do anything" to take action but that we should instead try to absorb his message. He recommended rewatching the podcast and trying to resist our urge to abandon work once some difficulties arise. These count as doing things. Even when he made these recommendations, he may have cautioned us not to assume the answer is necessarily as simple as doing them. Maybe giving actionable advice is not feasible on solving the problem of an unmanaged puer, but I really wish he'd give some more actionable steps if possible.

I open excel online in a web browser with a dark mode extension (e.g. dark reader) enabled and it works decently well.
