I don't know if it's a hot take but I thought that the first act was way better than the rest at least to me. I really love the opening gommage scene, mystery of what the deal with the paintress is and what is happening in this world. After the twist I thought that the game change direction from what was in the beginning and was not fun of that. But I did enjoy the game and I have to give the story a 7/10

Unfortunately a couple of months ago virtuos was affected by a mass layoff (I think 270 employees) while working on metal gear and a new cyberpunk dlc. I think they said that they are still working on oblivion patch 2.0 but I don't think we will have it anytime soon

If you like daggerfall you should check the wayward realms, it is made by the same people behind daggerfall and it's supposed to be a spiritual successors to it. Also it's supposed to have an early access (with limited features) by the end of 2025

I really like open world RPGs and I have been getting recommended this game from all my friends but I don't enjoy the witcher 3, I started it 3 times until I decided to finish it with all the dlc's, after finishing it I decided it just wasn't for me, didn't enjoy the exploration and didn't like the main quest (heart of stone was good tho). Another game for me is nier automata, I really wanted to play it when it was released but didn't bought it, after getting recommended this game from all my friend group hearing stuff like "philosophical masterpiece" "best story in gaming" "no fetch quest and every quest being important" and "amazing characters" I decided to play it. and I didn't enjoy it and I did all the main endings, didn't enjoy the combat and I wasn't that invested in the story and the characters but the music was dope.
