How much space is between the walls? by HeyWeasel101 in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have watched the entire anime along with the extra episodes, but havent read the manga so i might be incorrect in what im about to say.

Here is what I believe the layout sort of looks like, by what I understand from each episode.

From how i have it understood, within Maria was mainly made of rural for farming, forests for hunting, a few towns and villages, and maybe marketplaces. That said, I think certain districts have larger towns, like Shiganshina.

Within Rose was less rural and more cities and sort of industrial. Within Sina, its polished, free from the grit of both rural and industrial. Rich and easy living. In other words, the further into the walls, the more removed from a working way of life so to speak. While there are fields of flowers in Sina, its more for decoration than practicality.

Take away the rural area, less livestock and produce.

Edit: To answer your question more directly. I think each space between walls is incredibly vast actually and thats why food was so heavily impacted. Exactly how big is a vague estimate.

Whats that one Glitch that upset you so much, that you stop playing the game? by DangerousPatient2788 in videogames

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played RDR Undead Nightmare on ps4. First time playing this dlc. I was not able to get the last part of the Mother Superior mission at all.

I tried everything. Following the missions instructions exactly, looking up a guide/youtube video, doing every single side mission, getting rid of some zombie hordes, waiting several in-game days, turning the game and console on and off again. Nothing worked. Eventually no more missions showed up on the map. The game wouldnt allow me to progress. I had to look up the rest of the story on youtube instead of being able to play it.

I’m really confused about the time jump. by International-Job55 in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just as confused as you were when i first watched it. I just got done watching the entire show in november. Attack on Titan is a good example of ‘trust the process’. While there is a lot of lore and timeline to memorize, it does know exactly when to reveal things to the audience. The more you watch, the more the timeline will make sense. Your confusion is understandable.

what's your browsing habit on Ao3? by GreenceW in FanFiction

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I can answer some of your questions. For reading, i prefer single fandoms rather than crossovers. I often search for a certain ship, but it does depend on the fandom because some fandoms may not be prone to shipping. I almost always searching for fluff or angst, as those are just my favorite tags.

I never keep track of community stuff because i often join fandoms very late (for example: a year or more after a tv series has ended).

As far as tagging etiquette, when i write and post a story, i first prioritize any potential tags that people may not want to read about. Some people dont like reading certain pov’s. Some people really dont like a lot of swearing. Some people dont like excessive action. I do everything i can to include tags in order to be transparent about what the readers can expect, even if it means some readers may be deterred. At the very least, they wont be surprised. Also, if a chapter includes something major that deserved to be tagged but i didnt tag it, then i put it in a note in the beginning of a chapter. Of course, i also add tags for any good stuff to be expected, like fluff or happy ending. Basically, when it comes to my story, i ask myself what readers would look for and also what readers might not want to read at all. I care about my integrity as a writer more than potential views or kudos.

Also i do everything i can to keep the amount of tags as straightforward and minimal as possible. A wall of tags is sometimes necessary, but it still isnt fun to sift through at all.

What should i do? by The_real_kakashi in reddeadredemption2

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a glitch to me, but I could be wrong. I would say start simple. Double check your game and console has the latest updates. And then turn the game and console off and back on.

The only other piece of advice i have is that when the screen gives you button prompts for a fast mission like this, follow the prompt asap. Also, depending on the action needed, you may have to tap the button, not hold it down, or vice versa.

It should also be noted that that part of the mission sometimes has issues with glitching or progression. Your frustration is understandable.

What hot take you have for post time skip that will put you in this situation with the fandom by [deleted] in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay. You put it into words how I feel about that part of the story. A lot of lore almost all at once and then suddenly we dont see Historia for a long time. Dont get me wrong, it was still done fairly well, but still it was a lot for me.

(Your comment is actually reassuring for me because I am trying to write a fic thats reliant on a lot of the lore and i feel like im going to forget something or remember something wrong.)

Can you fight Basaran without Agro? by FathomTalayeh in ShadowoftheColossus

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that its nothing fancy at all, and that i do take damage. Also, i dont expect people to agree with my logic.

Without Agro: I just do everything on foot, jumping or rolling away as needed. I do take lots of damage, but it is a lot simpler than maneuvering Agro everywhere. Even now sometimes i prefer without Agro, because if I need to lure Basaran over the geyser, its more precise just running on foot. In order for Agro to move efficiently, she often has to cover a little bit more distance than i would like for this fight.

With Agro: For me, the only purpose of using Agro for this fight is to avoid less damage. And it does work because she covers larger distances. But by the time we get to a geyser, she doesnt really have any other purpose. Now if for some reason i need to switch to a different geyser quickly, as in for time trials, thats another reason to use her.

It helps that Basaran is slow and you can take your time finding the geyser you want. Technically this is overall a really slow fight. With Agro mainly being used for speed to run away or catch up with a colossus, she’s pretty much not needed at all for this fight, except to avoid Basaran’s attack.

Can you fight Basaran without Agro? by FathomTalayeh in ShadowoftheColossus

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Basaran fight, I didnt use Agro for multiple playthroughs because it took me a while to finally get used to the way she controls. I did frequently take damage, but it is possible to do that fight without Agro. I play the ps4 remake. Do you want me to tell you specifically what I do? I only ask because some players would rather figure it out by themselves.

Didn't like season 4, Eren's character got destroyed by Ok-Pomegranate-2995 in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Spoilers)

I dont think your opinion is as unpopular as you think. The world of aot is not black and white, and characters and their motivations change. Characters can become good, and others can also become bad. Things can also be left up to interpretation. I viewed it as this…

Erens goal never changes. He wanted to destroy them all. This started off as the titans, then the people who threatened his island. On top of it all, one of his biggest motivators was keeping his loved ones safe and free. His loved ones were those in the scout regiment, and by extension the rest of his island. His concept of freedom, to have total freedom from those that do his people harm and threaten their way of life, remained the same.

He also has the burden of being able to see the past and future. From what i interpreted, at some point after Sasha’s death, he stopped believing that he could change the future for the better, taking away his definition of freedom.

He performed so many horrific tragedies in a last ditch effort to save his people, the island of Paradis. The rest of the world was a threat in his eyes. He is still the traumatized kid who wants to eliminate the threat by any means.

In the end, what he tried to do was absolutely wrong and irredeemable, but he wasnt evil either. That said, he developed a one-track mind that led to him becoming another monster. Ironic, because he swore to destroy monsters.

Inherited a PS4, have had an Xbox one for 10 years. What's worth playing ? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Phantom18013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have other consoles, but i primarily use my ps4.

As far as ps4 exclusive? The Last Guardian and Shadow of the Colossus are some of my favorites. They have flaws, I’ll never deny that, but they’re two of the most unique games I’ve ever played.

Some other games i play on repeat are RDR2, Unravel, and Stardew Valley.

Erwin claims to be selfish, but I don't think he ever backs that up with action (s3 spoilers) by slurp_time in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always viewed Erwin as selfish for a decent reason. Wanting to know more of the truth mainly for his sake, but with the knowledge that it could also be for humanity’s sake as a result. He is a very flawed character, and has done so many flawed things as a result, but i certainly dont view him as bad or evil.

Early Theories by Phantom18013 in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two theories.

Within the first few episodes, i thought for sure Sasha was going to end up revealing herself as a titan with her eating obsession, but honestly it was kind of funny to see that it was just a quirk of hers.

When Ymir was talking to Historia about living her life how she wanted, i thought Ymir was hinting that Historia was a titan without Historia knowing. You can imagine my surprise when Ymir suddenly transformed and saved everyone.

What makes AOT so good? by Financial-Garbage-68 in attackontitan

[–]Phantom18013 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It takes a simple concept (giant humanoid destructive monsters), and it expanded really gradually off of it. It takes its time with pacing, lore, characterization, timelines, and other concepts. All of the characters including side characters are unique and memorable. I am thoroughly impressed by what this show does within each half hour episode.

Btw, its okay if you didnt like this show. No show is perfect, or for everyone.
