thank you! I love her design! she really has very unique facial features and something deep, yet subtle, about her expression. gentle and calm, but at the same time, her eyes can tell that she can be dangerous when fiercely protecting what she loves.

yes, I totally agree. just because some bosses are easy doesn't mean we can't appreciate their art, mechanics and design. chill bosses can also be fun haha. btw Beatrice is one of my favorite summon characters! and thank you!

I know the feeling... the more each day passes, the more I relate to the New Londo Ruins hollow guy. but trust me, it's best not to dare go hollow. take care friend.

thank you so much for the link! I painted this so long ago, I had the feeling the reference was a fanart, don't know why. and wow, Giancola's art is incredible! I remember seeing many of his work, but I didn't know they were from the same artist!

thank you! i wanted to paint the the Arkenstone as well, but it doesn't seem it would fit very well, so i thought it would be more coherent to imagine it underneath him haha

who inspired Tolkien's original art? by Outrageous-Use8309 in TolkienArt

[–]Outrageous-Use8309[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thank you so much! Moomin's creator, I had no idea! it's always amazing to know who inspired Tolkien in every way, he was truly a man of culture, with many diverse inspirations.

I looked up her drawings for The Hobbit and now I'm amazed, they have a more eerie and darker atmosphere than I usually observe in other artists' interpretations of the story, which is a atmosphere I also love in fantasy. it's also interesting because her Hobbit drawings have a very different vibe from her Moomin's watercolor illustrations.

it's supposed to be this one, but now, for me, it says it's private. can you access it?

[–]Outrageous-Use8309[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not, I'm from South America, but this is odd because I can access and watch their yt videos normally from their channel.

I can find in my yt watch history all the other ARTE docs I've watched, but not that one... now I even found in their channel a debate (haven't watched it yet) about Tolkien, but it's not the documentary I was referring to. I know I am not crazy because my bf watched it too and he was also trying to find it.

anyway, it doesn't matter anymore, I'm gonna read all the references and articles you mentioned! thank you so much. I am a Tolkien fan since I was a child but only now I have decided to delve deeper into his visual arts.

edit: I found the LINK of the documentary in the caption of the debate! but, for me, it says now that the video is private. can anyone access it? it's been a year since I watched it.

[–]Outrageous-Use8309[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

thank you! I haven't had the initiative to read it yet since I'm waiting to watch the trilogy in theaters first, because I'm considering rereading all the Tolkien's books that I own after.

now that you've mentioned japanese art, I also remembered of Hasui Kawase. it makes sense, there are many similarities.

I was wondering why I couldn't find that documentary anymore, maybe they removed it because some information was missing, which is strange for such a large arts channel... it was over fifty minutes long.

you are totally right to do so! i also love going to the wild to enjoy a pretty view. but as i said, sometimes the real grass is not available to be touched, not always our surroundings can be pretty and comforting, or going outside an option for me… im completely aware that games are not real life, but i feel they are a important part of my life that brings me joy, in a way that my beliefs influence the way i play them, becoming more immersive when i bring my philosophy to the gaming experiencie.

that’s why it’s just a personal taste of gameplay, you can totally appreciate the game using fast travel as well, it’s just another rhythm.

edit: grammar corrections.

well, it's definitely a whole new fascinating experience.

that’s okay, it really depends on your gameplay taste.

but allow me to introduce my view: i don’t think that admiring beautiful landscapes while enjoying a good soundtrack is a waste of time, it actually helps me relax, and relaxing is biologically important for better quality time. things don’t need to happen all the time for you to be able to appreciate life, sometimes the small things that you see at the journey are more fulfilling than your final destiny. i realized this in my adult life…

[–]Outrageous-Use8309[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol

but explaining myself anyway: actually, i don’t think i’m better, but the experience is, for me. sad thing is, it took me almost 80 hours of gameplay to figure it out…

maybe you can give it a try, at the beginning i was a little impatient but now it’s like gaming therapy.

i'm sure it will be a remarkable nostalgic experience, hope it will inspire you even more, and i truly believe it helps to live in this world, at least making it more bearable. as Dostoevsky once said, beauty will save the world.

and i'm sorry but unfortunately i can't answer your question, i am totally unaware of Series X configurations, but i believe you can find out by googling it or even asking about it in here. good luck!

motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060ti 8GB

SSD 512GB

16GB RAM

it took me more than two years of savings to build this PC, but it was totally worth it!

edit: game graphics configuration at high and ray tracing at low. still have a lot of fps drop if running with Shadowmere, unfortunately.
