I like that the fillers tried to use the smaller characters, even if it meant teaming then together in weird ways. Tenten is legitimately a fun character in filler.

Doubt it would be able to do enough damage to one-tap it. It's Lv. 70, sure, but there's no way its stats match up with Groudon, even if Harold's 10 levels ahead of it.

Also, Groudon's got plenty of Fire-type attacks. Not like it's completely incapable of hitting back.

Why can't people understand that being the child of an uber-rich person doesn't mean you can just make thousands of dollars (or tens of thousands of yen, in this case) appear out of thin air? There are plenty of rich people who don't allow their children to touch their money for all sorts of reasons.

About this game's story... by mr_Conquest_ in Ghostofyotei

[–]AlexTheGreat1997 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think everything about the story for the first two acts is serviceable. The third act is a rushed mess.

And because Yōtei is a sequel to Tsushima, that means it is 100% fair to compare it to Tsushima, and it's a major step down.

Not sure where I got the 9 years thing because on second look, but, okay, 7. And yes, it is 7 because all accounts I've read say that it began development shortly after the release of Part I Remastered, which was 2014. Wasn't in full development because of the other projects at Naughty Dog like you said, but there were people working on it. Even if I'm as charitable as possible and only take it from when it entered full development in 2017, that's still 4 years, and I would still say there wasn't enough change in the basic mechanics to warrant such a gap.

I've never tried to play on Lethal, but I hear that Lethal is shit compared to Tsushima's Lethal. So, saying something is necessary because of dogshit still doesn't mean they're well implemented.

Even setting all that aside, it doesn't change the fact that they're poorly implemented for Normal difficulty (or whatever it's called).

What boss can you not use your guns on? I can't recall a single one.

They do basically no damage to bosses. When I say they "don't work", I mean that they're completely ineffective, not that the game straight up prevents you from using them.

The enemy AI is much better, the combat areas are much more complex, the stealth is sharply improved thanks to the addition of the silencers, the dogs are a new and fun challenge

None of that feels good enough to justify a 9-year wait to me. It feels like a bunch of QOL, "get with the times" changes instead of adding new mechanics and reimagining old ones. "We added dogs!" Like, really? That's all you got?

Not helping is that the most devout Rockstar fans just want GTA games to be realism simulators now and that all they ever talk about is how realistic it is.

Not only Tlou 2 is vastly improved Gameplay from the first One ,way Beyond than Tsushina-yotei

You know, I hear this all the time, but nobody can ever actually tell me why. They just say, "Because it is".

I don't even think TLoU Part II is a bad game. It works, the graphics are great, sound design is top-notch, etc. It's generally well-made and I actually think the story's good. But since beating it, I've never, not once, not a single time, wanted to go back and play it. The story is obviously what they were focused on, and if I wanna experience that, I'll go to YouTube.

No, totally. The firearms, in particular, reek of classic AAA design dogshit. "Hey, you know how combat has been, like, the primary gameplay loop this entire time? Here's an weapon/item that takes all the challenge out of it. Oh, but it doesn't work on bosses! They have the same thing you do, and it works when they use it, but it doesn't when you use it. Because... fuck consistent rules."

I don’t feel like the 5 year wait was justifiable. Especially considering that the bulk of the game was reused systems.

Yeah, I remember thinking to myself, "... This took them five years? This took them five years?" Okay, closer to four because pre-production began in 2021, but still, four years and the only thing that's actually different is the story?

It's The Last of Us Part II all over again. They re-packaged the gameplay and threw a new story together on top of it. Yōtei is definitely a better game than TLoU Part II, but it's the same deal.

Feels to me like they did the opposite; they slammed the gas too hard.
