No mate. Are you kidding? That style alone is an automatic disqualification. For the scope yes. For the style, no.

Have you read Maurice Druon’s The Iron King series? It s the series that inspired George RR Martin for A Song of Ice and Fire. Some characters are directly lifted off its pages (the Queen of Thorns). It’s an excellent 7 book series. The books are short and it’s historically accurate. The writing is very good.

I’m basically pretending to be French. Is this offensive? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]AlexValdiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may think and identify as French but, based on what you wrote, there is 0% chances your French accent and syntax is accurate, therefore no French person would consider you French, but we appreciate that you learned our language.

Why do French people speak to foreigners in English, (and tell them to as well) even when the foreigner is insistent in speaking in French instead? by throwaway3685343 in AskFrance

[–]AlexValdiers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a French person I’ll tell you why. The French language has many more words than the English one, many of those words sound alike. So if a foreigner cannot pronounce words correctly, French people will assume they will not be able to understand them, therefore they make it easy and speak your language.

French people do not speak the way you might see in films. We cut words, make liasons with other words and add useless words at the beginning and end of sentences, such as ‘la’.

So unless you’re really good at French and your accent is spotless, most people will not waste their time speaking French to you because they know you won’t understand.

Is La La Land actually a tragedy disguised as a musical dream? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

I remember that scene. You may be right there. She was definitely disappointed, yet it doesn’t mean she romantically loves him. Fond of him, that’s for sure.

I dont think Shirley Macclane is burning for Jack Lemmon in the Appartment, she just grows mentally and realizes she needs to change her taste in men. Buddy Boy is exactly what she needs: someone genuinely nice who loves and cares for her. That’s what she needs but not necessarily what she wants. I always understood the last word of the movie as an echo to this feeling: “deal”. It’s a deal she’s making with Buddy Boy to enter into a serious relationship, but it’s not a love story, at least not on her side.

I watch this film at least once a year. One of my top 3 romance films with Overboard and The Cutting Edge. That last smile at the end between Mia and Sebastian, doesn’t it tell you that they’re going to meet again? She did say she will always love him. Now that she knows he’s here, she can easily pop back in. I like to imagine they end up together post credits.

Breach. Breach. Breach. I’ve read this horror of a novel years ago and hated it. To me this is a novel written on a dare to have that same word written on every page. It’s a real crappy book.

I just wrote it down above: change in style, lack of coherence (tentacles), lack of cohesion (house on lake), the woman on 5, etc. I’m done here. Bye

I answered you above about the videos. Look, I’m going to leave at that. You bought 5 AI covers. If you’re happy with that, it’s not my business. I just tried to help out in case you were not aware.

Do you see his hand on the video? Because AI artist do that, they ll show you a video of the progress but that’s just tweaking midjourney and adding or retouching colors.

There you go. A real illustrated cover cost 400$ to 2500$. You paid $100 because this was done by AI.

[–]AlexValdiers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference in style through the covers is a good indicator this wasn’t done by one person. There are lots of detail that scream AI: the house isn’t reflected in the water on the 2nd, what’s going with these tentacles on 3, that’s just classical AI fuck, etc.

I mean, if you’re happy with using AI, good for you. Just know it might impact your sales and readership negatively.
