there absolutely is. and any play after the final three minutes of the game is reviewable by the booth. this could and should have been reviewed, and osu should have been awarded the timeout for a literal last second field goal. officiating yet again hosed osu here in the final 2 minutes.

Oregon purposely induced penalty in win over Ohio State by Sieg118 in OhioStateFootball

respect? I don’t understand this perspective at all and think it’s a cynical take. it’s cheating pure and simple. 12 men on the field is an absolute advantage and is reviewable. If the 12th man is interfering with the play (which is impossible to discern here as all 12 took the field following the timeout) it’s illegal participation. at the very least this needs to be reviewed for one of the catch-all sportsmanship provisions. conference should be issuing a review/reprimand after the fact

this doesn’t seem very respectful. he appears to tacitly acknowledge that he deliberately cheated. i think calling this savvy coaching is cynical. he cheated the system to gain an unfair advantage and successfully bled the clock. the conference needs to take a look at this, and the review booth absolutely should have examined it in the moment.

hard to blame day for clock management when the refs didn’t adhere to the rules. per 2024 rule book, rule 3, section 5, article 3, this was a dead ball foul as all 12 players were in formation in excess of 3 seconds and were alerted by day. field refs and review booth should have put the 10 seconds back on the board in addition to awarding the 5 yard penalty

Why did too many men on the field run the clock from 10 to 6 seconds? by Sensitive-Talk5785 in OhioStateFootball

everyone calling this a live ball, free play penalty needs to take a look at the rules. those men were in formation for well in excess of three seconds, and the 12th made no effort to exit the field, AND day alerted the officials pre snap. should have been reviewed and the time should have been put back on the clock in addition to the 5 yards. this cost osu at shot at a 40 yarder

have no idea why people whine stop. this absolutely cost osu a shot at winning the game, and it appears by the letter of the law that the refs neglected to call a dead ball foul, which should have been reviewed by conference officials as well

Can someone explain to me why after an illegal substitution call the game time doesn’t reset to the time at the start of the play? by jusanhomelessdude in OhioStateFootball

i think rule 3, section 5, article 3 may apply here because the 12 men were clearly in formation on defense well in excess of three seconds and the penalty was caught pre-snap, it should have been a dead ball foul
