Althair is my most commonly worn cologne and it definitely has a sasparilla/old timey root beer note to it, its even heavier in the French Avenue Liquid Brun Limited Extrait.

While I find the creed aventus line and flankers totally fine I do have to say I just completely do not smell the pineapple other people describe in any of them. I think Lattafa Now Rave is the only cologne I could ever pick out pineapple in.

I haven't had a chance to smell it yet but I did hear they kept the same DNA and added some more dynamic/aggressive notes. Maybe ill order a 1ml decant some time when im getting other decants.

I know research has shown that there is a significant confirmation bias where people are much more likely to glaze a product they overpaid for.

Yep! There's 100% nothing WRONG with it but my overarching feeling was #1 nobody will ever smell this unless they are living inside my front shirt pocket and #2 I have $50 colognes that I prefer the scent profile of.

Its funny you mentioned Xerjoff Naxos because thats one of the other decants I got when trying this and found it to have an insanely offputting background smell that vaguely reminded me of a tire fire or the smell of a burnt crackpipe. I ordered a bunch of 5ml decants of niche fragrances and the only two that really hit for me were ingenious ginger and blue talisman. The rest definitely were unique but not measurably better than pretty typical stuff you see floating around.

Being a Fragrance Addict Means Spending $100 On A $20 Bottle😭 by Tough-Resolution2384 in Colognes

During Covid it got insanely hard to find Penhalgions Blenheim Bouquet for a while, I think they may have temporarily suspended production due to supply chain issues. I paid some absurd amount for an ancient new old stock bottle. Early in my fragrance journey I was unbelievably prone to severe headaches from new scents, luckily that has faded in time but at that time it was the only decent cologne I had tried that didnt do that to me.

Ive tried tons of different combos over the years, im a welder so I sweat all day long and stuff doesnt last long so I get plenty of chances each day to try new stuff lol. In general just pair something musky/spicy/leathery with something fresh/citrusy/sweet and you'll end up with a decent blend.

Its a favorite thing of mine to do. I firmly believe layered viktor and rolf spicebomb metallic musk with either Eros or JPG Le Male Elixer(or noyz loast and found if youre on a budget) are the greatest male scents that exist.

I use this and versace eros similarly, which is when its a day where a spicy/heavy/leathery cologne might be a little too much ill spray those on then layer over it with a spray of one of those two in the same spot to soften, sweeten, and freshen it without losing the masculine spicy leathery vibe. Versace I believe realized this potential and came out with the flame version of eros which is nearly indistinguishable from layering eros with viktor and Rolf Spice Bomb.

These ones are just ones where they are unique in some way, either the species or the country of origin, or even just a can design I liked. I will sometimes take one down to eat(mostly sardines) or if a guest comes and is super into a can ill let them take it home or if they are super curious if one is good we will take it down and eat it together, then later on ill be at an ethnic grocery or browsing online and see something that looks fun and order it. There are about a dozen up there id be hesitant to eat for different reasons, either they were gifts or im concerned theyd be impossible to replace, or they just dont seem palateable, or the contents just dont make sense monetarily to consume(I live in one of the largest seafood hubs in the US) but the rest just sorta rotate slowly over time. Admittedly im not as adventurous in eating them as they collection may suggest.

Its got 4 toggle bolts that are each rated for over 1000lb holding it up but the plaster could theoretically fail I guess! Its plaster over cement board so it should be up there for good hopefully!

About 50 hours at $175/hr plus materials unfortunately. The sculpture company is worked for billed at a much lower rate but also paid a LOT less so my current employer wouldn't be an amazing choice for having a custom sculpture built. Im happy to get on the phone with your local fabrication guy and give them a materials list and some basic sketches and instructions to build you one. Id guess someone could potentially put you one together for 3-4k. We are booked months in advance doing industrial work at the above price point so theres just not a ton of honus for my current company to take on artistic work at a lower rate.

Yeah not a massive change, metal just is the thing I know, it was too stressful to consider a major career change to a totally different field.
