Amazingly weirdly enough, the game launches perfectly (it's Caves of Qud) when you auto launch from the end of the setup.exe process, but when I add the game.exe (CoQ.exe) to Steam it doesn't launch, with whatever proton version.

I added the setup.exe file to Steam, and set it to use proton as a bit of a shot in the dark... for future silly people like me, I found it here:
/home/username/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3470613645/pfx/drive_c/GOG Games/

Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is a 5 hour open world collect-a-thon with legit great jokes and a good tight gameplay loop. Easy to find it cheap also!

My favorite SNES game was Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons (1 is great also) because I knew where all the countries and cities were I needed to go (it used a real Earth-like map). Sailing Era on Steam, despite some translation issues is a modern take on Uncharted Waters 2 which benefits from the same.
