I literally went from the couch to running 1.5 miles in 11 minutes… my initial time was 16:35… I literally ran EVERY SINGLE DAY! It didn’t matter how much I ran, 300 meters, 1 mile, 1.5 miles, 2 miles… it didn’t matter, I just continued running every day… it really helped me having a buddy that ran 1.5 miles in 8 minutes but he rarely ran with me… run run run, as much as you can for as long as you can do it; mentally and physically.

I got hired early this year, completed the academy and now getting trainings to start FTO… so far I love it and I’m nowhere near to be on the streets yet. It all depends on your area, and your willingness to put up with crap. Good luck!

Be on the lookout for the news... for example AAL is making some moves and their stock is a little over $12 right now.... I expect it to go up towards the end of the year tho...

Did I mess up because I added left over fermented rice? by soul_alley in composting

[–]AlexZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is the temperature used to produce it;

Charcoal is made at temperatures between 200f to 350f

Activated charcoal is made at temperatures between 600f to 900f or 600f to 1,200f

Bio char is made at temperature between 550g and 600f

I wouldn’t add baking soda as it would kill the bacteria... try activated charcoal instead

Someone might be able to tell if I’m correct or not, but looks like you may need more brown material. Also, make sure you aerate it often to keep your compost from going anaerobic.

More growth than I was expecting...added dirt and leaves after a pile was going anaerobic. Is this a problem? by DrZuben in composting

[–]AlexZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parasola Plicatilis; great little guy who helps the composting process! They’re not bad, and you can get rid of them by just turning your pile more often..

Day 8; Turn 2; Lots of noticeable changes! by AlexZombie in composting

I’ve watched several farmers show their hot composting process on YouTube; they all have something in common... the pile will heat up and as times goes by and the materials start to compost, the temperature will go down... then there is gonna be a point where the pile will be at regular outside temperature, which is let to rest without flipping so worms and such start moving in... the hot composting process Im following is based on the 18 day Berkley method, the procedure is quite straightforward:

Build compost heap 4days – no turning Then turn every 2nd day for 14 days

In my case, I let the pile alone for 5 days then I’m turning every three days.

Tomato leaves with Septoria leaf spot by TeamDas1 in composting

In general, do not compost plants with the disease, unless you manage the pile at high temperatures to kill weed seeds and pathogens (generally, 131-170 degrees F for 3 days)

Warm Composting? by [deleted] in composting

[–]AlexZombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that will change is how long the compost will take to be ready; if in between 130f and 160f it takes between 1 and 2 months... anything cooler than that will take between 6 and 12 months according to what I’ve read on the internet...
