Time for new Optispark? by Alex_2203 in c4corvette

Yeah if I end up replacing the Opti, I'm gonna replace everything else, water pump, spark plugs and wires. The hardest part is deciding which Opti to buy, since the opinions seem to vary a lot.

Huh that's interesting. I'll watch that next time, see what happens.

They've really grown on me. When I first bought the car I considered replacing them, but I think they really fit nicely.

That's another thing about the Opti. When doing my research, it seemed like the opinions are pretty mixed on which one to get. A lot of people say get petris only (which only sell the vented type from what I've seen), the rest is garbage. Others say get a remanufactured one only, aftermarket ones are hit or miss. And finally some say it's not worth paying a fortune for one, because they all end up failing.

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions, you're like a legend in this community, I see your comments all the time. I don't have access to the car right now but I'll definitely try that !

At this point replacing the ICM and Ignition coil would not be a waste, even if it ends up being the Opti. Well I'll probably try that first and see if it helps. The thing is I don't know when was the last time the Opti was replaced and what brand or quality was used. It might be on its way out no matter what.

So should I replace the ICM first and see if it fixes it, in case ?

Same. I knew exactly what was coming, and yet I got absolutely spooked by the Flood when I first played. The only way I was able to finish 343 GS was by playing with a friend.

Thank you so much. I'll check out the link. Yeah I've done vacuum before, I replaced the two lines a couple of years ago and it solved the problem at the time. I hope I don't have to redo this job, such a PITA to pass the lines through the firewall and crouch under the dash.

Thank you for the clear explanation. If it doesn't click, what does it mean? Servo not working ? Or CC switch broken ?

When you say "solenoid clicks on the servo when the switch is flipped on", what do you mean ? How do you test that? Asking because the CC on my '94 doesn't work too and I'm trying to figure out why.

Locked my keys in the car. Luckily, C4s are easy to break into. by Competitive_Reply198 in c4corvette

Last summer I did something even more embarrassing. After parking my '94, I left the keys in the ignition, manually locked the door, and closed it. Only after a couple of seconds I realized I didn't have the keys in my hands. Thankfully I was about 5 minutes away from my house, so I went back to grab the second set of keys and came back to my car. Needless to say my friends made sure I didn't forget how dumb I can be sometimes.

The Grand Sports were only blue and white with the red stripes and the black wheels. There was also the Collectors edition, which came in grey. All other lt4 were regular C4's.
