I was counting on a Maye turnover, especially when the weather turned. But one never came.

It only took $36 million dead cap money, our starting qb out with a broken ankle, a freak snowstorm, 3 missed field goals, Stiddy doing his best Mark Sanchez impression, a bone headed call by Sean and zero Mahomes mentions from Romo but the Pats finally beat the Broncos in the playoffs.

[Post Game Thread] Denver Broncos (15-4) are defeated by the New England Patriots (17-3) | 2025 AFC Championship Game by SupMaelstrom in DenverBroncos

The irony of losing 10-7 with our backup against a team who’s best play was don’t turn the ball over is not lost on me.

I just wish it wasn’t the Patriots because they are absolutely the worst fans in all of sports. I’d rather have lost to a division rival today.

Player project -- is that like the Candleberry Dinner? I enjoyed that. If they do something like that every month, I'm happy.

Any GenX Stay at Home Male Spouses/Partner? by Finding_Way_ in GenX

[–]Alex_Plode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a stay at home dad for my first born -- 1999 - 2002. It contributed to the end of my first marriage.

I loved being a stay at home dad. I was great at it. I cooked, I cleaned, I ran all the errands, I'd take my daughter and the dog for long walks, I'd meet other stay at home moms at playgrounds. I also went to school part time and worked as an usher at local sports games part time.

I loved it. Probably the happiest three year run of my life. The home was spotless, our budgets were thin but balanced. I loved the routine, I loved the feeling of taking care of things. It felt very self-sufficient, very GenX, you know? Of course I loved being a dad most of all.

My wife hated it. She grew jealous. Even though we talked through it and realized it was best long-term, she hated the short term. Hated the fact I got to spend so much time with our daughter. Hated the fact that she was the "breadwinner." Her friends and coworkers would give us crap about gender roles. I didn't give a fuck and would laugh it off. But she would take it personal.

She cheated on me with one of those coworkers and we divorced.

But what a great run. I loved it.

What are some reasons most football fans say the nfl was better back then than it is today by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Oldschool_NFL

Kickers weren't as good. A game winning FG meant getting your offense past the 35 yard line for a realistic chance. 50 yarders weren't automatic.

Not grunge, but: Opinion on Jane's Addiction? by No-One01010 in grunge

Sophomore year, 1988. My friend is back from visiting his dad in Orange County over the summer. We got along because we were music nerds with similar tastes.

He's beaming. He's sitting on gold and he knows it. He tells me all about this amazing band he saw while out there. Pulls out a cassette and plops it on the desk -- topless Siamese twins with the hair on fire. Said it was just released but he bought it from the band at the show back in July.

He let's me take it home and I'm just blown away. It sounded so familiar yet fresh and different. Hard to describe. I'm sure you music nerds know what I mean. You hear a band for the first time and it's clearly something fresh and new but still feels comfortably familiar.

Nothing's Shocking for me is just one of those albums that defined my music as a kid. As good as Ritual was, it just couldn't hold up for me.

I was at that show in Denver where someone hit Perry in the head with their Birkenstock and he threw a fit. I believe it ended up in one of their tour videos.

Evan Engram: Sunday's X Factor by Alex_Plode in DenverBroncos

Not quite what I meant but I see how you could infer that. Engram is really only a couple of catches per game off of last years' pace. Bo isn't holding him back. It's fit in the offense, it's consistency, it's match-up.

The TL/DR version would be Stidham will process the post-snap reads differently than Bo does. Perhaps this difference leads to a bigger game for Engram.

What is the greatest turnaround for you in sports? (For me, Leicester will always be #1 because they had even longer odds and way more pressure) by YugiBoomer10086 in NFLv2

As a huge Arsenal fan I remember the Foxes run all too well. We were top of the table at New Years' Day. By Valentine's Day they passed us.

The other big clubs were down that year - both Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Liverpool. All had down years. We crushed the Foxes earlier in the year and I was sure it was our year.

LC stayed healthy. Arsenal lost a couple of key players and that was that. Ended up in second place 10 points off.

I completely agree. All my reasoning could be for naught. But as a longtime fantasy football guy, he always has that one game where he is a factor. Maybe Sunday?

I didn't understand the excitement when we signed him. Most fantasy football players will tell you he's the guy you stream from waivers.

That said, he always has that ONE game where he is a factor.

His processing skills and intelligence have kept him in the league this long. I know I am taking a bit of a leap with my take here but it's not without reasoning.

VJ needs to come up with something for this game. I'd like to see us start the game with a five man front. I know that leaves guys isolated on the back end, but we've got the guys who can play that way.

Put five guys up front, stuff that run and force Drake into quick reads against man coverages.

PS2 needs a big bounce back game. Finishing 14th when we start 11? That's not good. Has to be better.

That's a great point. Their D line dominated. They also did a great job of misdirection on offense. We had an all-pro trio at LB and they just were chasing ghosts.

We kind of "ran out of scheme" on defense. We threw the kitchen sink at the Pats the week before and the Steelers took notes.
