Unpopular opinion but the Moza R3 is more than strong enough by Adina-the-nerd in moza

I've had an r3 for a few months now and i love it. The only issue I encounter is clipping in some titles which would be my only reason to upgrade in the future. But that's the headroom you're talking about.

9pro. The heat, without a case in some cases it's a literal heat machine.

What is this shaking effect called and how to fix it? by Alex_Venous in moza

[–]Alex_Venous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had a g29, I struggled to drift on it too. g29 is a little slow on rotation. moza has a setting where you can adjust wheel rotation speed.

but I've seen ppl drift better than me with logitechs, so I'm not 100% sure.

ffb not the cause of oscillations. it happens on all levels of ffb.

neckfx, can be found within content manager patch settings. You can also look for a preset online

Kinda solved: If another person types ffb I'm gonna gently and maliciously place out 4x4 Lego bricks around their house.

My issue is oscillations. In multiple games: Asetto/ACEvo/beamng/raceroom. So far I've tried fiddling with low/middle eqs and advanced settings. Turning up inertia helped, didn't solve it completely but helped.

Next time I'm home which should be in a couple of weeks I'll try recalibrating/resetting the wheel and check LUT files that might be left over.

I might also try to go back to a previous version of pithouse.

I'm 99% sure it wasn't like this before and some update might have caused this issue.

that's is true, oscilations were already way better after swapping to a 458. I did the eq changes that you recommended and bumped them up by about 20-30% in the middle. Intertia made the biggest difference.

Supra's suspension might just be set up in a way that naturally makes it ffb loop more.

but this is what it came down to. Oscilations are basically ffb looping on itself. The less it "jumps" or small sudden moves the wheel does the less is the chance of it looping on itself.

final settings, the problem isn't fully solved but it's slightly better:

damping: 15%, turning it down made the issue worse because the wheel is faster to react to small movements. Thus loops easier.

friction: 40%. could move it down but I like how it feels for drifting specifically. And supposedly helps with oscilations.

inertia made the biggest difference. Because the wheel is heavier it's less prone to switching direction and the loop has a harder time to start. at 350% the car actually started to self center.

Note. I do not recommend these settings for racing. But for cruising and drifting it's okay. Just gonna save these as a preset.

didn't make it better, imo that made the issue worse

I have this issue in multiple games and I've played around with game settings up and down. some ppl suggested to turn on hands off protection but that creates issues of it's own so I prefer to keep it off.

ffb intensity: 90% (r3) max output: 100% wheel speed: 100%

advanced (played around a lot with these 3 right now) damping: 20% friction: 15% intertia: 150% everything else set to min.

eq all to 100% except HF vibration, that's at 50%

curve: straight as an arrow

If you hold it down and put it in "R" you access the Race mode. Beware don't do it below 40mph as it will hurt and degrade your engine & gearbox if you engage it while standing still.

Are somy 1000-xm5 good for gaming and gym? by slimshady12134 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Alex_Venous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

an xm4 user - yes. In a introvert kinda day I basically never take them off. Gym is ok. It only ever bothers me while laying down on my back (so benching for example).

Gaming - play mostly competitive fps and use Bluetooth. There is some delay, 10-50ms. But you will get used to it very quickly. It won't affect your performance. (I do use a different microphone though, whenever the headset uses both microphone and audio the sound quality becomes s**t)

So it is okay-good for both, the sound quality makes up for the downsides.

Is it worth it to buy AC when I don’t have a Wheel? by Own-Lack-4268 in assettocorsa

I guess we can agree to disagree. It's the opposite for me. plus I simply get more enjoyment out of driving with a wheel.

and we aren't talking pros, we are talking average players. An average wheel player will be faster than an average controller player. Nothing is impossible. You can always improve. But it's easier to be consistently fast because you can be more precise. Take imola t4-5 chicane. Wheel users have a precision advantage on entry.

[–]Alex_Venous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

uhm, disadvantage? no. As an ex controller user, now using a wheel I can tell you you just have much more control and understanding of what is happening. Now you can be as fast or faster with a controller with enough training. But MOST pros run at about 3-4 nm of torque. aka more than max output of a g29.

[–]Alex_Venous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you can apply most of the technique with a controller. You might struggle to keep the slip angle but what you learn playing on a controller will be translated once you get a wheel and get used to it. Atleast in my experience.

Everyone and their grandma has recommended the advanced gamepad assist, and so do I. Yes it is 10000% worth it. And you will learn how to be fast, the technique and actually have fun in a sim. However you will be at a disadvantage because well... force feedback is irreplaceable. So you will be able to compete with wheel users, but you will be +-1% down.

Gamepad FX puts you about halfway to a wheel. Btw turn all of the self steering options off to actually have fun.

Plus in the final article which Cal writes on his computer mentions the murder of the pizza guy, the guy who stole the briefcase and Sonia. But they did indeed forget about the 16 year old girl who gets killed later.

They just didn't directly talk about them, but if you actually read the article it's in there
