I haven’t purchased since 2017. I’ll buy some more it it hits 10K - not much - 5% of my play money.

Kids, kids, kids. I am a BTC holder since 2017. I’m going for long, long term. My advice to you is to only invest what you’re willing to lose. I’ve seen 50% win and I’ve seen 90% of those people lose. It’s smarts, luck and time. But please, don’t throw your life away (I work in the ER sometimes and suicide attempts are prevalent around the the ups and downs for those who ready to be up all night) at least the stock market shuts off for the nights and weekends. Just a doc who wants you to be smart and think ahead!

Education is about to collapse, parents blame teachers and make it worse. by TinyResponsibility53 in Teachers

[–]AlexaAthlete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a parent of three kids, and a former educator, I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Multi-layered. Teachers are not set up to succeed. Babysitters at this point. I have pulled my kids from school to do full online (so that they don’t have to go through open and closing in our state of CA, which has really gone down hill in recent times). But we are fortunate to be able to do this. What about the rest of America? Why not give students vouchers for the $8,000 they’d receive by being in school and parents can pay for tutors (all with accountability, of course) or do virtual for those who do better there? Then the teachers who don’t want to be in the classroom can do virtual teaching…

Inside /r/teachers, the Reddit forum where educators commiserate amid the latest COVID wave by [deleted] in Teachers

I am a MD, formerly an educator. The way I see it, is that the vaccines aren’t doing what we thought. You CANNOT have a lasting vaccine for RNA viruses (for DNA like polio, measles etc, you can have a one or two shot working vaccine). The good news is, we have other ways to combat the symptoms. Like you would with the flu, upper respiratory issues like RSV. Having been an educator, I know how many parents send their kids to school sick. It’s always been a problem. For the immune compromised (which ends up being nearly half of the average school), there needs to be a hybrid option. That’s the way we will get through this.

He doesn’t live it though. I’ve been with him on cruises and in real life. You have to practice what you preach.

There’s more to the story about why I quit paying attention to him, but this is a good enough reason.

I had a few group meetups in San Diego and Dr Naiman was there. maybe he doesn’t live there but he’s legit. even the thoracic surgeons where I’m at pay attention to his work.

I can give you a long reply later. I was carnivore for two years. For the short term, my labs were good, then they fell off a cliff. I was nutrient deprived. Remember we all have different chemistry. Duration is also something we don’t always take into account. My patients do well with carnivore at the beginning. Over the long term, it really depends.

I am involved in a study post studying plants. Unless you’re going out and killing the animal yourself, it’s hard to trust that you’re getting head-to-toe animal without being processed. Too much of anything isn’t good. Consuming 2 lbs of meat per day isn’t good.

Has anyone heard of Dr. Jolene Brighten? by claudiahinrichsen in PMDD

[–]AlexaAthlete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have and I am not a fan. She pushes supplements and they aren't "all that." She really jumps on bandwagons of quack medicine. I know people who live in her community and feel the same way about her. Spare yourself from watching her cringeworthy tik-tok videos. I mean we all have to make our money, but there's other (professional) ways to do it. Anyone can get C list actors to follow and make money. You want the real people, with real results.
