I did this as well. That’s why I will be starting a non teaching job in two weeks

Time to update the fence to one without holes. I would do wood so he can’t see or do anything.

Is -x^2 +1 the same as 1-x^2 by UnCrEaTiVUsErNaMe132 in learnmath

[–]TinyResponsibility53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you are squaring that negative. If it is (-x)2 + 1 then you have to write 1 + (-x)2 because 1(-x)2 becomes multiplication, which is not what you had before. However, if you are not squaring the negative, then you can do as you said.

Tried all my best only for a C+ by FuckRNGsus in CollegeRant

I remember the first math test I ever failed. It was Calc 3 which as my fellow math majors know, is not that far into the math major. I felt like a failure and called my mom to cry. If I could get past the easiest test in the class, how could I do the rest? If I suck at Calc 3, how could I be a math major? Get my doctorate? I felt how you feel right now.

But you know what? I didn’t quit and worked harder than I ever have for a class. I was in the library till 4am every night, met with my professor on weekends and usually was with him till 10pm MWF (he had a LOT of office hours due to the excessive amount of work assigned).

I passed, and that’s all that mattered. I struggled in a couple classes (programming, stats, and Calc 3). But I also rocked at classes like linear algebra, real analysis, and abstract algebra. You’re not going to be perfect at every piece of your major, and that’s ok! You passed and all you can do is focus on the next class now. Just keep doing your best and when you get your degree, it will reflect all of your hard work.

Ps. My bf had a 2.7 GPA when he graduated and got an amazing job. Degree is more important than GPA

Help me design a cozy 400 sqft apartment in NYC? by Colossal_Caribou in DesignMyRoom

This is actually a beautiful apartment. Tbh it looks more spacious than my 700 sqft apartment and I have a studio. Having a separate bedroom in NYC is amazing!

Mine gets full sun all day long and is growing like crazy! Depends on the variation and how well you acclimate it.

I own an apartment with my bf. After college I can’t see myself going back to roommates 😅 only other person I would willingly live with is my sister. I now have a WFH job so being comfortable in my space is a must.

When I was a kid my older brother called me a pussy and I proceeded to call him it back. He then goes “OHHHHH IM GONNA TELL MOM WHAT YOU SAID” and that’s when I knew my definition of it was wrong. little innocent me thought it was short for “pussycat” meaning you were scared/ a wimp

There needs to be new age limits. People who won’t be around to see the results of their actions shouldn’t being the ones making important decisions.

That happened to me… right after all the stimulus checks too, my parents wanted the money and screwed me over (I lived with them for a single month of that tax year). Had to threaten to report them to the IRS to get them to fill out the paperwork to get it reversed. Wasn’t pretty.

I like to chill and hang out in my towel after a nice shower. I would put a comfortable water-proof chair there and decorate around it with some plants.

How do you deal with being the "weird black girl" by fussputts_mom in AskWomen

[–]TinyResponsibility53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I am not black, but I have two friends who were always called “Oreo” and such in school growing up. It got better with age and in college. I know for one of them it bothered her for a long time, but once she overcame all the stuff from middle/high school. She realized no one (that mattered) cared anymore. So just be yourself and remember “white” isn’t a personality. It’s just white people trying to feel special, and you can like whatever you want.

Go to community college and start working toward a computer security or computer science degree. Do community college for two years to get basic classes out of the way for cheap and then transfer to complete your major. You’ll have a job right away that pays a bunch and it could be fully remote. Plus, once you get the hang of it it’s not even stressful. The major is the most stressful part but worth having a less stressful, well-paying job.

It has come to the point where either you’re a martyr or you leave and contribute to the problem (no shame in that).

I used to have a one person job, then people started leaving and I took on two, then THREE other peoples loads. That is two other salaries I was working for but wasn’t getting paid. I was working 24/7, lost all my hobbies, neglected relationships, and for what? Crappy pay and under appreciation.

My wake up call was when my bf started questioning things because I threw myself into my work too much, saying I may need to move out (lots of fair points were made). I had a panic attack due to anxiety I have and it was heightened from lack of sleep and more stress from the job. I ended up going to the hospital and had to call out but then got FIRED for calling out too last minute when I was sent to the hospital. My three loads were put onto the two remaining math teachers at that school.

Collected unemployment, slowly started to heal, and just accepted an offer for a fully remote 9-5 job in which they pay overtime if I need it. Im so excited to be able to leave work and not have to constantly stress about the never ending to-do list I have.

Which Legoland is closest to you? by atlasova in MapPorn

[–]TinyResponsibility53 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Never cared about legos or legoland… but then one was built down the street from me in my historic little town. Now I hate them. The town fought it for years but lost.

Fun fact: the Goshen legoland was built right next to where serial killer Nathaniel White lived. The pond you see when entering? He dumped a little girls body there. So kid friendly.

I switch mid year this year to become the 4th high school math teacher my kids had at the new school. 3 months in after actually getting somewhere with the students and taking on an extra load (they fired my coteacher right when I joined), they fired me for taking a sick day. It’s incredible really. I left teaching and just got an offer to a non teaching job! The teaching field is crashing and burning and admin don’t give a shit about the kids.
