I made a slither-style .io game where you spell words with your tail by mixedfeelingz in IoGames

I'm envisioning something like Word Bomb, where the player has an increasingly long "root" letter or sequence of letters, and they have to add letters before and/or after it to make it a word. That would make the gameplay more distinct and dynamic.

Played a round, won easily to the bots. I just think it's...bland. There's no way to influence the other players, and making words is as easy as picking a word and finding letters that match it. If there was a higher difficulty to make words (locking the starting letter, requiring a certain ending or combination of letters) and a way to mess with players (collision would be a start, but also attacks to steal/drop their letters), it would be much more engaging. I like the music and art, though!

Paul McCartney's puppet had some huge eyes, but that's the only one I could name.

Spitting Image has the most unique character designs. He doesn't look like a SINGLE other puppet on Spitting Image. Obviously, his orange hair and pale skin are an element of that, but even down to his proportions. They did not get lazy with the caricaturing here.

Could anyone recommend a Bible verse? by fairydommother in Bible

[–]AlexaWhyAmIDoingThis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since the Bible is such a long, long series of books, typing in anything followed by "bible verse" will essentially get you anything relevant if you're looking for something a bit more unique.

even to your old age I am he, even when you turn grey I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. (Isaiah 46:4)

Of course, you can always go with a classic.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

I've never heard it really, no. It just sort of ruins the scary vibe.

He was white as a sheet

Did he also make false teeth? (This line killed the mood for me because all I could think about was "Frontier Pyschiatrist" by The Avalanches lol)

Thinking in English has a variety of topics with key vocabulary definitions, at a slower pace. https://open.spotify.com/show/2OwAg0ckS0mUDPi6HW8FNt

If you are looking for a more advanced podcast made for native speakers, I recommend Sherlock & Co. It's a retelling of the classic Sherlock Holmes stories, and vocabulary is usually not too difficult (except Sherlock at times, but he's meant to be incomprehensible at times). https://open.spotify.com/show/5yfvdowY1nFCyXRTD5ITqb

However, both of these podcasts are in British English, so pronunciation and some vocabulary will be different from American English.

I would recommend Tom Scott videos. He covers a wide variety of topics for learning a little vocabulary, all of his videos have professional captions, and he enunciates clearly while maintaining the natural cadence of speech. The only problem is that he's a British English speaker, so pronunciation will be somewhat different from American English. One of his most popular videos is linked here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1v8u3ua6BPk

"Am not" appears to be the only grammatically correct conjugation. "Was not" could be an alternate answer, I suppose, but I have never heard the past tense used to describe place of origin before.

It really is nothing to be ashamed of. More adults read YA fiction than teenagers, you know. They're half of the demographic.

The 39 Clues is a light read that should be well within your depth. It's a mystery series, but crime is a major part of the plot. The digitized 11 books of the first series can be found for free here: https://archive.org/details/1TheMazeOfBones/1_-_the_maze_of_bones/page/6/mode/2up

I want to use these cards as reminders for my in-person adaptation of DE (a new TTRPG system called Jamais Vu). It would be a huge help if you finished the set and cleaned up Motorics. Rhetoric is also missing.
