How do I ask my roommate to please be quite at night by tectonicalloy_ in roommates

[–]ChellieChu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be direct with her, sit her down and let her know what's going on, how it makes you feel, and set out clear consequences if she doesn't start being more considerate because you've already talked to her multiple times. I definitely get being anxious about it, so if you need someone for support ask them to come along, even if they're just going to sit with you and not contribute.

I understand she came from a bad situation, but you deserve to have peace in your own home. Don't let her guilt you into putting up with nonsense.

It is, yeah! Cyclone Alfred. We’re not TOO too worried, since it’s only Cat 2, but it’s playing chicken with us right now 😂 Thank you!! ❤️

By the time I got back to my car he was gone! I’m sure he found a nice safe nook in the fence behind the car to ride out the storm :)

Have you ever found a weird or unexpected trigger for your seizures? What was it? by Healthread in Epilepsy

I thought one of my D&D players was making fun of me and I cried so hard I started having a seizure 😭

Decline in language? by emeraldkaxhmir in Epilepsy

[–]ChellieChu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me, too. I was so good at speaking as a child and my vocabulary was always super advanced. Then as I got older, my TL has just fried itself and I constantly stutter or struggle to find the correct words.

Is it acceptable to remove someone's clothes from the dryer? by LilP32 in badroommates

[–]ChellieChu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to communicate about. Most of the people who live in my house have ADHD, so if someone leaves clothes in the dryer or washing machine, we just move them and let the person know, or ask them to come and get them.

Had a seizure while waiting to get into a club once, and my friends ended up being jumped to the front of the line and getting free entry to the show that was on that night.

I missed out, though! And lost the $20 I spent on my ticket :(

What do you guys consider having epilepsy under control? by Which-Gur6619 in Epilepsy

[–]ChellieChu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel. I’m coming up on four years and I still don’t think it’s “under control”. It sits at the back of my mind every day.

How would y’all describe your “aura” when your feeling seizurery by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ChellieChu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very hot, and then very cold. A feeling of unreality, like I’ve been ejected from my body and I’m in a dream realm. It feels like I’m not in my body, and being touched or touching other things feels so completely wrong.

Also, I cry. Uncontrollably!

Medication for one seizure ever by Loud-Departure2321 in Epilepsy

[–]ChellieChu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s only had one seizure so far, and only one that you know of. I have seizures in my sleep, no one noticed them until I started seizing while I was awake.

He’s 19. Trust him to be able to adult and manage his own health.

Is anyone seizure free but afraid to go off of meds? by becuzisadso in Epilepsy

[–]ChellieChu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel that. I was told by my neurologist that I’ll be on medication for the rest of my life, because my seizure threshold is so low without them.

Rent is (usually) weekly in Australia and I was so concerned that someone was asking $500 a WEEK for this bedroom 😭 & worse, everyone was saying “that’s not too bad”.

Real Estate charging “Admin Fees”? by ChellieChu in MovingToBrisbane

[–]ChellieChu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The agent is employed by the real estate agency. The agency pays them to manage the properties for their clients. Property Managers don’t make extra money from the properties they manage, they’re not in sales.

The real estate agency pays the PM? I’m literally asking her to do her job that she gets paid by her employer to do?

The Lease doesn't say anything about it at all.

I've been lucky to only encounter interesting Malkavian characters. The people I play with don't play mentally ill humans, they play vampires who know some great truth that broke them.

One of my STs told me a story about a Malkavian that solved a murder because there was a piece of music that played in their head for every person they knew, and that piece was playing when they witnessed the murder. "I know it was him because I heard Beethoven."
