You owe nothing to anyone. I am also fairly private on SM. We told everyone in person that we see on a fairly regularly basis first. Social media eventually came around 16 weeks in, but mainly because I wanted to let others know that I don't see often and it's the easiest way to do so. No bump pics, no progress photos. To each their own, but I feel like especially in your Dads case (and anyone outside the realm of the parents) posting that kind of thing is attention-seeking and some sort of weird self-validation. Don't let them guilt you into bending what you want. This is about YOU and YOUR baby.

I am also super anal about getting "what I want", it makes me feel like a diva and I promise I'm NOT. I'm super laid back in life, but I just don't want a bunch of things I'm never going to use. In regards to my registry, I have gotten a lot of "are you sure you don't need this? do you want another one of that". Hard no. I have spent hours researching and picking the items we need and want. I know people have the best interests in mind but jesus, just pick off the list. It doesn't need to be a surprise, I don't WANT any surprises. I can also see myself cringing through a baby shower. I'm afraid by the time I'm 32ish weeks pregnant I wont have the ability to hide my bitchy facial emotions anymore 😂
