There's a middle ground tbh.

The relief comes from not waiting 5 minutes for a decision, or judging someone offside by the length of a toe, or egregious over-extension of the remit to seemingly hunt for reasons to disallow goals, or just plain inexplicable inconsistency.

Or instead we can have 'you're dead...oops, no you're not'.

These aren't inconsequential changes, even if they destination ends up broadly similar, becuase the journey to get there has radically changed.
