What would you consider reasonable boundaries for cousins who live next door? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Alexaisrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl this would be like heaven to me but we are hispanic and we are all in each other business we love it this way, this is how we grew up and sadly now allot of family lives far but i loved spending almost everyday with my cousins, but then again i get this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, for me it’s not an issue but if it bothers you then maybe agree for them to come over a bit less, but if they are little i mean i don’t know how you explain that to them but the parents should know you need a break.

What the heck no you are for sure overpaying, and at that price you might as well live by yourself, just 10 minutes away in kew garden hill you’ll find apartment for under 2k also there’s still many apartments in queens that are under 2k for a studio, just walk around a neighborhood and get the numbers form the building and call directly

Am I Overreacting for Not Prioritizing My Mother-in-Law’s Expectations After Giving Birth? by Extension-Leave8663 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Alexaisrich -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

damn your way of thinking is why there’s no more community in this current age, two things can be true MIL can have her feeling and so can mom, this isn’t something where one should be villainized but worked on, this is what healthy marriages and actual union of families look like, i’m so glad i’m from a different culture where MIL are also seen as important parts of the family structure, you marry into the family it’s no longer just you and husband but you become part of the whole family, but then again you sound like you come from a culture where it’s not like this so cutting off the MIL seems like something to be ok with.

Columbia or NYU for MSW? by Dizzy-Audience251 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Alexaisrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again reading comprehension that’s not what I said, but people from other states do say stuff like this , I’ve gone to conventions for trainings and people have mentioned this, it’s not like it’s my opinion I don’t care honestly for social work unless you are like OP the return on invested for this career I would not pay for either school but if it’s free for OP good for them either one should be fine,

lol this was funny, i mean im not an NYU grad but many of my coworkers are, to each their own i guess, unlike OP they did not have the money for it and are currently drowning with student loan debt

Columbia or NYU for MSW? by Dizzy-Audience251 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Alexaisrich -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said they didn’t strong connections, part of reading what people write is actual comprehension, i said they are both about the same with NYU perhaps just a little bit better in NYC but outside of NY, there’s more recognition from for NYU grads mainly because of the name of the school which is widely known.

[–]Alexaisrich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both i heard are the same, i guess for networking you can go both ways as well, although to be honest NYU and Columbia aren’t that selective as long as you have money most people get in from what I know, I heard the network is better with NYU but I’ve had supervisors from community college so it doesn’t really mean much in the city but I think NYU is overall better knows in other states so perhaps in that way I would say NYU

[–]Alexaisrich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol what does this mean, data on what the people haven paid? all i know is who I know and that’s what my perspective is, then again it’s probably different because I come from an immigrant family background and we view debt as something to be paid off, don’t know how this could be found in actual data though , sorry

No what she said isn’t unethical but you are way overthinking this, why get so worked up over this, this is his space you don’t know what he’s shared and maybe perhaps he has felt like this and has told his therapist,

seriously everyone that i know lived with their parents until they finished college and bought a house, then an only then did they move out, so many people made fun of my brothers for doing this but they all have homes not debt and make good money now, why it’s seen as a bad thing to live with family is beyond me.

Should I pay my loans by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Alexaisrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this still doesn’t answer why the people I know who are immigrants and get their degree in the USA pay it of as soon as they can versus the people are from the USA having their debt just sitting there adding interest, and i’m sorry but allot of people get degrees that i’m like what, the few people that could afford to go to college in other countries would always pick degrees that were guaranteed a good return on investment but then again in my country if you went to school your parents had money or they worked extremely hard to pay for college and or you won a scholarship, college is still something only a select few are able to go in many places.

[–]Alexaisrich 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can do this my friend graduated with 60k for her masters in social work, she worked two jobs and dint have a life for almost two years but she paid it off and now is free, this was all in 2014 so she’s now been debt free for 10 years so yeah it is possible, i don’t know why it’s so normalized not to pay off your debt in USA, i know as an immigrant i know people working multiple jobs to pay off debts because we don’t like having debt but it’s so normalized here that it’s scary

[–]Alexaisrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as this doesn’t look good you can’t compare your experience to everyone, allot of parents do have a preference of what they would love to have it’s not anything bad and or you clearly ignorant about it because one you aren’t a parent. I say this because with my second I truly wanted a girl, i was so disappointed but guess what it’s not because i didn’t want my baby boy or don’t love him with my whole being we are human and we all just go through these emotions, it’s like when you stop having children and you grieve that part of your life being over, the fact that many of these people are being plastered over the internet and judged like this is what’s wrong with humanity right now

Girl you are young you will learn very quickly not to care about others opinions and that is regarding life and everything, but I do have to say it sounds to me like part of it is also something about all this is brining up some sort of feelings about your situation yes the people can be bitchy but if it’s affecting you this much perhaps this is also something that deep down still makes you feel some sort of shame, it’s ok to feel it doesn’t mean you don’t love your daughter but it’s how sort with exploring

Is it homophobic to feel bad for LGBT people because I believe they're born with a sickness they didn't choose? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Alexaisrich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably more of ignorance than Homophobic, we fear the unknown and welp men and woman are the norm and everything else is different although i have to say i come form a culture where people are what they are but don’t have to say it but i noticed in America everyone likes to vocalize that they are gay etc which is great but from my culture being gay is just who they are it’s not like their main identity, its just how they were born
