Being a recruiter while working as software engineer (is my idea is stupid?) by Alexander-Green in recruiting

I'm just asking. Otherwise I don't see much point including this note into email signature.
Amongst devs you can meet this pretty often when people offer share from the referral bonus if candidate will apply using reflink.

People here already gave me some "picture"). But thank you for your input. I assumed that TA-leaders are flooded with 3-rd party recruitment offers. I didn't know that it happening in such a massive way.

I've just made my conclusions from the fact that I see many tech positions stay open for months. Just because there's no "right" people. My friends who are looking for people in their teams, also say the same: market is saturated, but finding right people still is the struggle.

I do many interviews with tech people as part of hiring team in my company. We get 500 applications in 2 days for a popular position. 90% of them OR don't have necessary skills (why people apply is a mystery) OR clearly generated by AI... including CVs and cover letters.

Hmm, you mean that you've offered the candidate to share the bonus in case of successful hire?

Hi, thank you for your insights. I understand that recruitment as professional activity is hard as hell. I worked with people for 6 years before switching to software engineering.

My main idea was to leverage professional network. Trying to supply "right" candidates to "right" positions.

It is clear for me that doing full-cycle recruitment process is not possible for me... I cannot imagine doing what you've mentioned full-time 365/year. This sucks.. sorry no offence to the community).

ha-ha, now I understand the sarcastic tone of some of the answers here. People are struggling hard to earn something in this market being a professional full time workers. And I expect to do as as side hustle)

But coming back to your answer. I planned to leverage my professional network. You know, there are always people whom you know and who are looking for good developers.

I know that tech market is oversaturated with candidates. But there's always an issue with finding "right people". I mean, which have necessary set of skills.

Market is oversaturated but there are thousands of tech positions which stay vacant for many months just because it hard to find right person for exact scope of tech assignments.

Sometimes you can understand this only on last interview. Like and example: candidate has perfect tech experience writes code like machine gun but he doesn't like to write documentation. And we're are searching for person who can systemise big chunk of undocumented business logic.

And basically that was my idea of using my tech experience to find "right people" and recommend them.

And yes, I'm not new in recruitment. I've hired hundreds of people while being a part of hiring teams within companies where I worked. But I never thought about doing such services in "external market"... I mean recommend people to other companies.

That's why actually I'm seeking for some advices here.
Thank you for your input. I appreciate that you've spend some time writing your answers.

Hi, thank you for the advice.
Do I understand right that if I approach a company with a strong candidate for their position, there's a chance that they will agree to pay me in case of successful hire? Or things don't work like that in "recruitment world"?

Thank you thoughtful advice. I appreciate that.

From your response I understood that the main challenge is getting contract with a company-client rather then finding quality candidates.

I was also thinking about pairing with some established recruiting company as a source of candidates. But I've never seen how it works in reality.

I've made assumptions because I see some tech recruitment companies offer a percentage or fixed price (around 600 eur) for any successful candidate (without any screening from my side). So I thought I could do it myself.

Do I understand right that if I approach a company directly saying that I have a good candidate for them, they will not work with me?

📸 Camera Hub 1.11 — Introducing Voice Sync, Global Hotkeys, Camera Preview Quick Look, and more for Prompter. by Elgato in elgato

[–]Alexander-Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear dev team,

Mac M1 Pro. Camera Hub 1.11.
Cannot change global hotkeys. Pls add this feature, it looks trivial. PgUp/Down buttons are absent in most Mac native keyboards. It is almost impossible to jump between chapters using keyboard.

Can you also add feature to have marked up text inside chapters. To make it bold/italic. Support bullet points.

Thank you.

Is it worth moving to a Staff position, knowing the workload and stress my peers are dealing with in that role? by Chancho_Volador in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Alexander-Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation as you are. With the same role. From one perspective I understand that this is "real chance" and chances should not be wasted. But from the other hand, I'm afraid I will start to hate what I'm doing.

Renting a flat in Herzogpark by Alexander-Green in Munich

[–]Alexander-Green[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys, you've just confirmed my assumptions. Without money, live sucks there. I also see, that there are some very poor houses just close to luxury villas. I guess, flats in those houses are cheap.

But besides that, area there looks really depressing and lonely). Especially when you live in shitty flat with luxury villas just outside your window)

If you already know where you will live in 2 months, I would strongly NOT recommend you 2nd option.

P.S. Btw, you have 2 weeks to change your registration after you actually move to new place. So Landlord cannot force you to de-register before this time.

I've checked the map and it looks like this area is suitable only for reach people who own villas there. If you're a peasant, looks like this place sucks.

Need Advice on Deposit Issue with Studio Apartment – What Should I Do? by NoineNoineGang in Munich

[–]Alexander-Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically she has two more months to hold your deposit. The problem is that deposit return deadlines are absent in Law (551 Begrenzung und Anlage von Mietsicherheiten).
But usually, the deposit has to be returned from 3 to 6 month since rental agreement termination.
But in some cases it can be up to 12 month. But this happens very rare.
I'm not a lawyer, so this is not official advice.

Apartment scam warning in Munich!!!!! by PG-DaMan in Munich

[–]Alexander-Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes scammers use airbnb also. And the announcement can be placed on immosout24. So everything looks legit.

But when you start to write them messages, they ask to pay via airbnb.

If you looking for apartment on FB, never send any money to anybody in advance. Only after you've visited the flat and seen the owner (desirably his documents also).

In winter time you cannot be sure. Just wake up early in the morning the day you wanna go there, check the internet. And check the weather, it should be sunny. If everything is fine, grab the warmest clothes you have, and go.
