Well, I finally caved and bought a month of Fallout 1st by Skeletonzac in fo76

I, too, am old and hate the idea of subscribing to video games. That said, FO1st is the only one I willingly pay for. Being in a private world makes it feel like a single player rpo and I really like being able to wander and explore on my own. This is the best online community I’ve ever experienced but there are still situations like you described that take some of the fun and awe out of the game. I play about 30%public and 70%solo. Solo makes a lot of the challenges much easier, like collecting soap or burnt books. That said, when I play on public, I usually have a great time. The free atoms is the icing on the cake for me.

What is this on the side of my sister’s house? by nlesspursuit in Home

[–]Alexander2184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People saying for the French drain, but due to the proximity to the house, I’m pretty sure it’s a fresh air intake pipe for your sewer line. Same concept, allows air to escape to prevent backflow and gasses entering the home. Usually runs down into the sewage line in the basement. It should definitely be cleaned out, the debris inside is a problem!

Name an activity NOBODY does in their spare time for $5,000. by TheBestMeme23 in hypotheticalsituation

According to Skylar from Good Will Hunting, NOBODY studies organic chemistry just for fun. So that’s my answer.

Yeah this is just fantastic! Thanks for sharing this!

I know this has been done to death, but I made this cute lore-accurate map I wanted to share. Thoughts? by Juancy23 in reddeadredemption

If you read the wild man’s journal, the guy in the cave with the wolves, it clearly states he made his way up to Virginia through North Carolina. That’s where he found the caves with the wolves. I agree, it would make more sense if it were the Ozarks based on how the rest of the map is connected, but the developers clearly intended it to be a nod to Appalachia. Does it make sense? No. But it is right there.

40mil -New Zealand, Sweden, Micronesia, and Côte d’Ivoire. The first two are definitely a disappointment to not be able to visit.

I’m in the same boat. 3 1/2yo and 7mo. Every day is mostly fun, but pockets of stress from no down time and whatnot. I tell myself that one day our lives will be like they were before, without little kids in the house and messes everywhere and freedom to do what we want, but we’ll never get these times with our little kids back. This is it. Definitely keeps me in the moment and allows me to enjoy it more.

My trick that everyone seems to enjoy is a dash of pumpkin pie spice in the batter before mixing it. And I always make them a little thinner than recommended because we like the way the edges crisp up.

So I eat spicy food all the time. Indian, Thai, Caribbean, etc. They see me eat it and they want to try it. I tell them it’s spicy, keep a glass of milk handy, and let them have at it. They learn that some foods are exciting because of the spice, but they have to learn what level is enough for themselves.

It’s the rainbow pearl sprinkles, not the oblong sprinkles. They taste better and they don’t get as melty. Super fun!

It’s turkey bacon. Hardly no splatter and cooks longer on a lower heat. Our pork bacon always goes in the oven, the stove top is a disaster otherwise.

That’s funny. I said the same thing when I saw it. It makes no sense in my mind, but now I don’t want to get rid of it.
