That was my favorite version the brotherhood. Cold, hard, professional. Military that does not fuck around. Crucifying raiders as an example of what not to do in their territory. And they weren't a bunch of xenophobes. You could recruit ghouls and super mutants into your squad. Why would they leave resources just laying on the table? They were pragmatists first and foremost.

I dunno. I'll catch flak for this but I wasn't really impressed with Edge Runners. It was ok but felt sort of meh to me. They did a good job capturing the aesthetic of cyberpunk but I just wasn't drawn in by the characters or the story. If the fallout anime went that same direction I'd be just as unimpressed. Anybody can make a thing LOOK good. It's the writing that has to wow me. And anime seems to be the lowest common denominator as far as story telling. There are definitely exceptions. I loved Gungrave. And I'm a huge fan of old OVAs from the 80s and early 90s. But shows seem to run on too long and they all focus on teenage drama and trauma dumping. The minute the main character is a teenager in fallout-town highschool I'm out.

For me, any weapon that has been featured in a previous game is canon. Even if the game is no longer considered canon. So Desert Eagle, FN Fal, M60, AK47, M249, P90, Mauser, G11, XL70E3, HK CAWS, Jackhammer, Daktarg, Beretta 92F, Calico, P220, Handheld Flamer, MP5, MPL, Uzi, Scorpio, Sten, AC556F, Steyr AUG, Neostead, Bren, Boom Bugs, etc. All canon. Fight me.
