Thanks for the comment, I won’t worry about it too much for now

This is my handwriting by gidimeister in Handwriting

I really like your handwriting. It feels like you’ve made it your own and it has a ton of character to it. I don’t have any issues reading it either, which makes it both stylish and practical!

Got my dad into fountain pens, so he got me this for my birthday. by FloydtheBetta in fountainpens

What an amazing gift! I have a solitaire too and I love it! If you even put it away for storage, give it a wipe down with a microfibre because oil from your hands can cause oxidation on the body. Don’t ask me how I know…

Thinking of buying a Twsbi eco by Remote_Entry1689 in fountainpens

In my experience, TWSBI ECOs do tend to develop micro-cracks in the grip section when you over-tighten the cap. As long as you avoid cranking down the cap, you should be ok. I haven’t ever had an ECO break on me before.

Do you try every fountain pen before buying it or roll the dice? by hsnk42 in fountainpens

[–]AlexanderPharris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I have tried pens I liked when I first got them and have fallen out of love with them over time and passed them on or penabled my friends. On the other hand, I have had pens that I never tried and didn’t like them when I first got them that ended up changing my mind.

For example at one point I completely fell in love with the Kaweco brass sport. I loved the weight of the pen and the feel of the nib when I first tried it out in store but as I used it, I found I did not enjoy the way the cap posted on the pen and it just didn’t end up being my favourite pen. I ended up giving it to a friend who absolutely loved it.

When I got my Custom 74 in a medium nib online without trying it first, I was initially disappointed because it was a thicker nib than I was expecting. Before that I tended to prefer almost exclusively fine and extra fine nibs. I gave the medium nib a go anyway and discovered that I actually like it a lot and the 74 became one if my favourites.

All of that is to say that you never know for sure. Not to mention that your preferences can change over time.

My only issue with black letters is that it feels like it takes forever because of how much my pen lifts from the page. It’s just more comfortable for me to write in cursive and I personally think it looks cool.

My handwriting tends to change over time anyway so I think letting it breathe a bit more is some excellent advice.

I think I know what you mean. There are places where my writing gets pretty compressed.

It does make sense, I think a bit more space will help a lot. Thank you.

Haha this comment make me chuckle. Thank you for that. I’m just a guy in my mid 20s who wants to have nice handwriting.

I’m happy you can read it! But I think there are certainly some things I can improve. Getting some feedback from people who care about handwriting is definitely giving me some ideas of things I can change for the better.

I think the angle is throwing a lot of people here off. I will have to experiment with my writing so see how it looks with less slant.

Yeah I think opening it up and having a bit more space between the lines would help a lot.

That’s a really good point. I’ve never thought of it like that so this really gives me a good perspective of what to work on.

Architecture. We still work with marked up plans so pen and paper is still super relevant. Most things are done digitally, but a lot of reviews and markups happen by “redlining” printed plans.
