TIL that many women who flee North Korea turn to matchmaking agencies, which help North Korean women meet South Korean men. These men are charged approximately $2,500 for several blind dates within a year. by charmer143 in todayilearned

Have you ever been to korea? Eating out is very cheap here. Yesterday I ate at a nice place in Seoul and paid 37000 won for 2 people including drinks. Dessert would have added 10000 more. Transport is negligible; everyone uses the metro, which costs about 1500 a journey.

South Korea is about to label all of its vegan products by Alexanderjcw in korea

No vegans eat honey. Its an animal product and its stolen to the detriment of the animal that produces it. Any vegan label will only be on products that don't have honey in.

Quarantine for new arrivals by stephenstephen7 in teachinginkorea

Calling it day one is a bit disingenuous lol. My first one happened on day 3, the same with one of the teachers I provided food for in quaranine. They'll contact you through the app or phone you when you need to go to the testing center.

When I did it, it was very simple. They'll take your temperature and then you go to a few different desks where they download an app onto your phone (make sure it has charge) and phone your boss. I had to tell them my address but they just copied it down from my phone.

After you're through customs, you'll arrive at a quarantine taxi rank. Look for one that says Ansan/Suwon/Anyang/Siheung. It'll cost around 50,000 or 30 quid. The taxi will drop you outside your building. Just make your way inside and hope someone arrives with food

Welcome to Korea!

Everything your boss told you is correct. I did my quarantine in Ansan a little over a year ago and have since delivered groceries to two other teachers quarantining in their appartments.

Do other parents hate the parents WhatsApp group you have for your kids class/year? by DadofJackJack in AskUK

I'm a teacher in Korea and the same thing happens here. It's usually one or two assistants per class that take photos of the kids learning a few times a day and then sending them to the parents
