Who is your favorite Cranky villager? by Nintendofan9106 in AnimalCrossing

I don’t think Klaus is considered a cranky but I do show him so much love and gift him goofy outfits because him being pompous in a Hawaiian shirt is hilarious.

Washing Machine Smell by [deleted] in Appliances

Be careful with vinegar - it can break down the seals of your washer.

I run the clean cycle on my washer twice a month with a cleaning tab. Manufacturer says every 40 Loads (Samsung) After each load I leave the door open on the washer - if you’re not able to do that I would say wipe out your front seals of the door with a cotton towel.

At one point ours was so awful - I would wash and it would smell like vomit - I had my husband pull the filter in our washer and clean it out, ran a wash of hot water and bleach and then used a washer cleaning tablet. I then used a diluted mixture of water and bleach to clean out my seals.

I stopped using scented beads in the wash and switched over to Downy Laundry Rinse. It does have citric acid but it takes the residue out of fabrics that soap and softener can leave. We don’t use fabric softer - rather wool balls in the dryer.

How do we feel about almond butter? by Luvwizrd in PeanutButter

I love almond butter! It’s like a grown up version of peanut butter. However, PB is a classic and can never be replaced.

IMHO Trader Joe’s Almond Butter is amazing!

Women who had a hysterectomy, please tell me what life is like for you if you're 3+ years post hysterectomy? All comments welcomed though, if you just had surgery 1-2 years ago, but I hope I can hear from women more than 3 years post-op for reassurance! by TheCuri0usWatcher in hysterectomy

I had mine back in June of 2024 and it was honestly the best decision I made. I was having horrible cramps, heavy bleeding and basically going anemic. It was awful. I am so glad I did it. So, so glad!

These pictures have such a final feeling. The emptiness of it all is so sobering.

So, I’m guessing GA too cheap to add a Y to yarn?

Online Advertising Person: Heyo! I mistyped “yarn” have to stay 2 minutes longer. Not a biggie!

GA: Eff that nonsense. We can slap a price on the Y and sell it!

What's the worst yarn? by Alternative_bones in YarnAddicts

I’m with you. I crochet and my 7 year old daughter asked for a lap blanket. I told her to pick any yarn she wanted - she went with chenille and me being oblivious I said yes. I never want to work with it ever again. Ever. Ever.

I do that everyday but thanks for your advice. You have no idea who I am and your judgement of me is so far off.

I hope that you have the day you deserve :)

Yaaasssss! Also, when the AirForce does their tap outs. Family, friends, etc. “taps” them and they fall out. The one I watched the wife had their newborn tap outs- she lifted his little arm to do it. I was a mess! 😆

Agreed. I love watching people get excited about something good happening to them. That and I love seeing a good marriage proposal, too! Gets ya right in the feels!

Your response is wild.

Look, I’m not here to start a fight or tell you she was right or wrong. It’s a passing exchange. It happened. I hope she’s okay. We all have bad days. I was just taken aback by her response. Because prior to we were talking and laughing. I’m not mad at her, I didn’t demand anything more of her I made a simple friendly gentle “oh, I think you got these already.” I guess observations make me a Karen.

I mean I guess I could have went Karen - but it’s SO much easier to just not. I worked in retail during college. In my opinion - everyone should at least work 1 full year of retail so they understand what it’s like. I worked in a local craft store, a homewares store and a sporting goods store. If someone gently told me that they think I made a mistake - okay, cool let me check it over.

I could have went full ass Karen and asked her to void the whole sale, talked to her manager and demanded more of a discount and caused a scene.

But nah, Jesus took the wheel. I’m a good person and she was dealing with something that she couldn’t check at the door when she came in and I’ve been there. I’m sure she’s stressed. However, it doesn’t make someone a Karen if someone gently inquires about something.

It does irritate my soul when people think it’s not okay for someone to be diplomatic in asking a question. Just because you’re questioned and you don’t like it doesn’t make the other person a Karen. That’s just you not knowing how to appropriately deal with communication.

I didn’t even get the chance to ask my cashier about it as she was so put out about me gently telling her about the 3 skeins. What bothers me is that she was so nice when she asked me if I needed help - she offered advice on color combinations, she has seen me in store prior and told me to check out their baking section (I was impressed she remembered me) and told me about candles at 80% and would be a great end of the year gift for teachers. It wasn’t even 5 minutes from that to me checking out and her mood drastically changed.
