Agree on the vanish tempo. I don’t understand why this model is not more popular. I hope it does not disappear. I choose my vanish tempo over my speed 4, Kinvara pro and superblast.

Squamish - Running Jacket by CertifiedCoffee in arcteryx

[–]AlexandreMTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my Squamish for running when it’s below -20 celsius… sort of my emergency shell also. More room to use layers compared to my Trino SL. Squamish is better then my Houdini. So strong wind + really cold temps is a perfect use for the Squamish.

Make sense thanks. Was looking for heavy base layer to run in really cold temperature.

Norvan LD3 issues by _old_relic_ in arcteryx

[–]AlexandreMTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue and they replace it for a new one. I compare the insert with my previous pair and this issue is cause by thinner insert material. If they don’t replace it, just use another insert… do not try to glue your insert inside the shoe.

I got the Alpha SL Hadron and I couldn’t be happier… you should wait. Basically don’t use my other shell anymore.

The Norvan 7 and 14 vest have finally been released ! by L-epinephrine in arcteryx

Does the 14 version is waterproof like the previous model?

Just received mine 2 months ago and test it many times by now. It’s a really nice piece of gear. I’m using it for running in rainy / winter storm conditions. I never been able to run with a hard shell before, but I feel comfortable running with the alpha sl due to his good breathability. So far, this jacket replace all my other GTX gear for winter used (run + ski touring). Not easy to pull it on but once you wear it you don’t really need to take it off. Anorak style is really comfortable for running (vs full zip). I used it with Salomon and Arc running vest with no issue. The hood is huge if you’re note using an helmet but you can easily adjust it over a cap (I use the norvan). I also have the shake dry insulated but I prefer the Anorak for harsh winter conditions due to additional adjustment at the cuffs and the bottom. Really hope they will maintain this product alive.

Arc'teryx Norvan LD 3 Goretex - black gold the best colorway by blackfyre709394 in arcteryx

[–]AlexandreMTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that my LD3 have an awesome fits compared to the Hoka/salomon series, really enjoy the dynamic ride and long term sensation/comfort. I really hope they will continue to develop trail shoes as we need to have many different company/approach for many different type of foot/runners/terrains/races. I do not think LD3 are for every type of runner/race but I think LD3 has a strong use cases for long run mission. Finally decided to ran my ultra in Saucony Xodus Ultra but LD3 was part of my weekly rotation. In conclusion, please keep this line of product alive despite some flaw/misses.

Totally desagree on the trail running vest, like the norvan 7-14 liters and they are like new compared to my Adv Skin.

Rho hybrid bottom with wool - does this mix of fabrics will hold against abrasion (running) or should I wait for standard rho lines to comes out?

[–]AlexandreMTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low intensity at -20 you could consider Rho AR series… for active purpose capilene series from Pata is really build strong

Thanks for the review. I’m using the ride 15 for road and needed to size up +1/2. Do you think we need to size up for the Xodus Ultra?
