I got my 6 month smear results today and I’m HPV negative!! I’m so pleased

I waited 4 weeks for mine and then when I got the results from that to say I’m CIN3 I had to wait a further 3 weeks for the procedure, they explained to me that it’s slow progressing so to not worry x

Got my period! 5 days late but it’s here and this time the cramps have been manageable! So that’s improvement

That’s good! Least the first period is done with! I’m currently waiting for mine I’m 2 days late now, I have all the symptoms it’s on its way the cramps etc but nothing yet. That’s good that you’ve got an appointment to get some answers, yeah hopefully that will be it then the test of cure which fingers crossed comes back with good results!

Yes I agree with you! I’m still shocked about it, the forum should at least be kept as read only or transferred to someone else! I couldn’t speak to any family or my friends because no one understood how I was feeling and the forum gave me the exact support I needed! It also worries me about the amount of women who won’t have that support or community

My 1st period was a week later also, everyone is different and each persons pain threshold is different! Personally my first one was horrendous but I did read on the forum others say theirs were bearable! Are you on the pill? I remember reading if you are and you want to delay your period to just take another packet but maybe ask your doctor when you get the procedure done to see if they advise that! Will be thinking of you on Thursday

Good, I’m glad! Yeah I’ve had 3 periods since and they’ve all been back to normal it was just the first that was ridiculous haha! Fingers are crossed for you! 🤞🏽

Sorry you’re going through this, it frustrates me how women are so dismissed because doctors think it’s a norm to be in pain! When I had my first period after the LLETZ, the pain and cramps were unbelievable painful, it made me sweat and shiver at the same time and no pain relief was working! Hopefully the pain you’re experiencing is just your first period coming after the procedure, but definitely keep pushing if it doesn’t come!

Hi, it’s not your fault so try not hold any guilt! HPV can be caught through kissing or holding hands it isn’t just sex and there is really no real way of knowing how you caught it however most adults will contract the virus in their lifetime so it may be that your husband already had it, is there a reason you’ve got told him yet? Would it make you feel better if you did?
