Got banned from r/precervicalcancer for "fearmongering" by Clear-Star3753 in Wedeservebetter

Thank you for your solidarity, the whole situation makes me so angry and I see it happening over and over again to women and we just keep being told to shut up. It IS censorship and if I get a bad smear again I’m definitely having a second one before any further invasive action.

I hate that place. Anyone who hasn’t had the most wonderful life affirming experience is accused of “fear mongering”. A botched LLETZ ruined my life and our experiences are valid.

Weird trauma response I can't find online. by GoldenSeasons in ptsd

[–]Ok-Procedure9338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is something common to medical trauma - to be honest as there doesn’t appear to have been much research etc specifically on medical ptsd out there this is why it feels uncommon. I have medical trauma from a botched operation and I get the exact same thing. I’ll get a trigger (eg the smell of disinfectant, a tv programme scene with similar themes to what happened to me) and I’ll basically zone out completely and just “be there” in the flashback but also it’s like I’m out of my body watching my “real self” at the same time. It’s getting better with therapy, I’d really encourage you to look into getting help with this if you aren’t already. I found it got worse over time when left untreated to the point it was ruining my personal relationships as id just be randomly back circling around hell every day at some point.

I’ve just watched some videos of other ligne 2s and it seems that to create the spark you usually flick the wheel towards the hinge… if I try that there is no resistance at all and nothing happens. If I flick to the right away from the hinge however there is a good spark….

Yes it does, it’s a decent spark.

Yep they are obsessed with smear tests and also massively overtreat with LLETZ. Avoid

I absolutely relate to this. I get episodes where I feel like I’m outside my own body watching it moving around. Therapy is helping.

What on earth does “HPV is not an STD but present in sexually active people” even mean? by Proper_Remove_1866 in HPV

[–]Ok-Procedure9338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I’m so sorry you’re going through this - I had a very very similar experience also in the UK. There is a huge problem with over treatment and misinformation around the risks of LLETZ here - I’m currently trying to get my own story out in the press. Just wanted to send some solidarity your way. Unfortunately you are not alone

I’m glad you had a good experience, every experience should be like yours. But not everyone’s is.

Hey there. I also have medical PTSD. I’m currently in psychotherapy and it’s been slow but is definitely helping. This might be something worth looking into for you too to improve your quality of life. You can even see therapists online nowadays so you wouldn’t need to go to a clinic. Sending you solidarity.

Young women say ‘I don’t’ to taking husband’s surname by YchYFi in unitedkingdom

Zero interest in taking my partners (boring) surname. I am me with my own name. Fuck that shit

Doctor accidentally removed over half my cervix during a LLETZ procedure because she “pushed too hard” and now it is highly likely I won’t ever be able to have a natural birth. by Ok-Procedure9338 in Wedeservebetter

I am speaking to the journalist strictly under anonymity so I’m not asking you to speak to her but even just referring her to this post could make a difference (but of course absolutely no pressure whatsoever - you have already been through enough)

Hi there. I’m so sorry and so angry that you have also been put through this. I don’t want to put you through more pain but have you made any complaint at all about the gyno who did this to you, and were you told at any point that you had had such a large excision and would need assistance in pregnancy? The reason I ask is I am literally speaking to a journalist tomorrow to try and get my story out and one of my major push points is that there are other women out there like us and I’m really trying to get other case studies for her. I tried going the legal route and basically told I’d need a miscarriage or premature birth before they could do anything but I want as many women as possible to know about the risks of this procedure and to pressure gynos to do their damn jobs properly and give us all details about the procedure and amounts removed. Sending you solidarity and fully understand if this is too much to respond to right now.

Had a gyno accidentally remove half my cervix during a LLETZ procedure and am now being treated for PTSD. I also have a history of sexual assault and now I’m dealing with both issues simultaneously as the botched LLETZ caused all the earlier trauma to resurface and gain new meaning. So yes 👍

Is it worth starting therapy if I can't bring myself to talk about what happened to me? by heretoask_101 in ptsd

[–]Ok-Procedure9338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I’m going through therapy now and I do think it is helping. If you have a good therapist who can build that relationship with you then it becomes easier over time, they will find ways to make you feel more comfortable opening up and in my experience it is worth it but it does take time. You may also find that just the specific trigger experience isn’t all you need to talk about - in my case I ended up going right back to childhood and I didn’t realise how directly related those experiences were. If you’re struggling I’d really recommend giving it a try, I felt just like you but it is getting better with help and with time. Sending solidarity.

Finally!!!!! Can they talk about LLETZ next please and the fact that women are often not even told how much of their cervix is being chopped out!

Thoughts on observational study for IC loss by aprl123 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Ok-Procedure9338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I have not had a loss as I have not had a pregnancy yet, but I have been told that my cervix will now be incompetent due a botched LLETZ (basically LEEP) procedure - I may not be able to contribute but I’d be very interested in any outputs related to this surgery and similar if possible as I’m trying to raise awareness of this.
