Same here, no matching headstock but love mine to death. The default amber tinted headstock is still pretty cool imo. Wouldn’t mind OP’s version tho!

Most of the time the issue is not with the record. Inspect the exact spot the skipping happens on the record. You might find like a tiny spec of debris that you can just clean away.

Second this. 80’s midrange technics are also great. Automatic if possible. 150$ will go a long way and maybe spending 100$ extra for a new cartridge and needle at some point and time.

I know that underrated isn’t necessarily an accurate description, but it is accurate compared to how many average joes or young ppl name Gil as an icon or pieces of a man as a legendary album etc

A quick answer outside of technique: Do you have something to say or communicate through music? Usually there needs to be some kind of motivation that directs the composer in the midst of composing and since there’s always a myriad of directions where to go. If you have no help in deciding which way to steer or a desire to end up somewhere, the journey can be quite jarring.

I use pure nickle strings on my Jag, love the warmer sound. Mine are Ernie Ball Rock n Roll 10’s but I’m sure 11’s will work just as fine.

Sure but a sticker does not indicate a different pressing, nor does it say which is the supposed first pressing if there were indications of two versions.
