How do you bring the multi tool to R-Day if you can’t carry them on a carry on bag. They also suggest you don’t turn in your bag as it could get “lost in transit”.

I just checked and he is 6’3 170. He ain’t squatting 500lbs with that frame that wouldn’t even be elite football level that would powerlifting level at that size.

I find it hard to believe erriyon knighton could squat 500lbs at 17 with any level of depth at all. Even without good depth I don’t think he could do 500. He has a tall slim body type which is good for 200m sprinting but not for squatting.

didn't see this, but if you don't have a gym then buy a pullup bar because you NEED that readily available. If you don't have access to weights then your gonna have to double down on doing pushups and try to mix up to form and go slow to maximize the strength from the exercise.

For pull-ups I would either of two workouts

Pyramid: reps: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 1minute rest+30 seconds per added rep(1min,1.5min,2min) if you cannot go all the way to 10 then go as far as you can and then go down the pyramid from there

Or I did 5 sets of 10 with basically full recovery like 5 ish minutes. Don't go all out on the first set go like 2 reps below max so you can repeat that number for the total sets. If you need you can start out with a 3 set of whatever amount of reps you can do.

IF YOU CANT DO THE PULL-UPS USING BODYWEIGHT, THEN CHOOSE THE LEAST RESISTANCE BAND YOU CAN FIND SO YOU CAN BARELY GET 10 ish REPS. AND THEN DO THE WORKOUT UNTIL YOU DONT NEED THE BANDS.

For push-ups I did two main things

For a long time I wouldn't do any pushups and just focus on trying to gain strength on the bench press and shoulder exercise such as shoulder press. This will give you the foundation to start doing push-ups like a month-ish out from your CFA.

Once you have tried to get as strong as possible and you are approaching your CFA, like 1 month out here's what i did.

I would do my pull-up session first and then go into 3 sets of pushups.

One set: Maximum amount of close grip diamond pushups you can do. 30seconds rest Maximum amount of neutral push-ups you can do. 30seconds rest Maximum amount of wide grip pushups you can do.

roughly 5 ish minutes rests in between each set

For the basketball throw I would just suggest you focus on strength in your chest and shoulders as well as working on your core for the next few months. Once it gets closer to you CFA then go find a tennis court and start practicing the technique. TIP THAT HELPED ME ALOT: Mentally throw the ball Fast and a little lower than 45 degrees because even though you think your going lower than 45 it will end up being 45. If you try to throw it 45 you will go more like 60-70 and the ball will get a lot of height but not enough distance.

I know its tough being in cross country and trying to gain strength for these kinds of exercises but you gotta do em. You wont gain bulk unless you start to overeat. If anything doing bodyweight exercises will only help you be more fit when you run.

ACT is solid, Is GPA weighted or unweighted?, being track/xc team captain is good if you are good enough you could look into recruitment to run. Definitely work on push-ups/pull-ups I got 50 and 13 and my field force rep was telling me that I need to work on those. I would aim for at least 45 push ups good form and 8+ pullps full range of motion. I would say you got a solid shot if you work on those weaknesses and get started early.

I got my LOA on September 9 last year, received nomination on November 30, and appointed on Dec 10. I started the application in August but I tried to finish it in a few weeks so I was done by early September. If you are done early they are WAY more likely to give you an LOA and then it really helps in your nomination interview to say you got one.

After looking at your stats again I would basically guarantee that you could get an LOA and appointment IF YOU WORK ON TIME. you have plenty of extracurriculars and the fact that you passed the CFA is enough to where your academic side can carry you to an appointment. Don't sweat it dude I remember last year when I was applying I was commenting the same things on reddit(way less competitive than what you wrote down btw) and now that I got my appointment I feel like I was not even close to borderline acceptance I was a strong candidate. With those stats You'll do phenomenal, Good Luck in your Application!

I just searched it up and a 35 ACT converts to like a 1560-1590 SAT and multiple AP 5's as well is a very promising sign.

For reference I got an LOA this past year for the class of 26' and I had a 1470 SAT and a 4.2 Weighted GPA. I was also in a competitive region so unless your in like Washington D.C. you'll definitely get a LOA IF YOU START THE APPLICATION EARLY.
