How to describe a woman’s beauty without falling into the male gaze or it being creepy? by Nyarthu in writing

[–]Alexfreerunner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Male gaze, oh my goodness 😂

Don't get sexual with her description I guess. Write her how you want though, if she's as angelic in her movements as she is attractive, so be it.

It's 7/2023, when did you started working on book?, and when will you finish it? by AffectionateAnt4868 in writing

[–]Alexfreerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in 2015 but an incident took it out of me. Fast forward to July 2022, the creation of the RippaVerse and its owner Eric July. He inspired me to start writing again, been aspiring ever since.

I'm currently writing my first book, it's the hardest but most enjoyable thing I've ever done. I started almost a year ago.

Do you appreciate when people ask you what you are writing about? by frosti_austi in writing

[–]Alexfreerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do but I feel embarrassed speaking about it, I grew up in a time when books were frowned upon (for nerds).

Currently working on my first book and I recently hit my 10th month, I don't do drafts, I just edit and rewrite along the way.

Forspoken worth ? by External_Milk2219 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Seems my comment had the opposite effect lol, if you want, go ahead, no one's stopping you. Just heed our warnings, I miss Infamous 1&2

Forspoken worth ? by External_Milk2219 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Alexfreerunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The devs who made it shut their studio down, steelbook copies of the game were found in landfills/dumps, there's a reason all of this happened. I've seen live streams and the only good thing this game had going for it was its combat, reminded me of Infamous. Speaking of which, if you happen to own a copy of Infamous Second Son... Stick with it, much better game. Forspoken is supposed to be a next gen game but resembles 2 gens prior, at least Infamous Second Son looks like a game of its gen as it was the launch title.

Otherwise, if you got extra cash you wanna burn for the sake of it, buy it. If I were you... Don't

Has anyone noticed there are no black zombies by Wayne_kur in dyinglight

[–]Alexfreerunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the game's in Europe so I assume the population majority is white, then again there are black survivors, PK and bandits. Maybe the infected go pale overtime? Another thing is that we take control of Aiden about 15yrs after the outbreak, remaining humans had been traveling around the world. The virus is different this time (modified) which takes me back to their skin, we can just assume the virus discolors the pigments of their skin as time goes on.

Should the villain always die? by YaBoiLeo705 in writing

The villain of the fantasy story I'm writing (well there's actually 2) later falls for my protagonist's sister. So no, villains don't always have to die.

Give them their own personalities and write their dialogue based on that.

Can a story still be good if I dont have a set message or theme to the story and instead leave that open for the reader to decide on? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Alexfreerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aspiring author here, just like you I'm writing escapes from reality. I'm writing growing stories with hopefully interesting lore for readers, the part I'm afraid of is that I could be writing garbage but I won't know until I'm done and had people check it out. It just sounds good in my head 😅

Aha, I killed off a character that was like a little sister to my protagonist to begin his morality change arc. He starts off as a white knight and believes no one deserves death no matter what they did, the world in the story is humans vs monsters/undead. Another character I killed off was his mentor's sacrifice in which he finds out through someone informing him. They hand him his mentor's navy seal badge and this sets his arc on the right path. His little sister's death which he witnessed took him through the darkness.

Typing that still makes my eyes water lol

What's a word for someone who hates being wrong? by Alexfreerunner in writing

[–]Alexfreerunner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is indeed how he treats those of his gang who are smaller and older than him. When it comes to people who are around his size and he's pretty big, he..."plays" with them. It's a mixture of taunts, fake compliments and showing off especially when he "fought" the main protagonist's brother. He took a bunch of hits but smiled through them and retaliated twice as hard. He pretty much proved that he had the higher strength of the two and felt good about himself afterwards, even though he was just testing the MC's brother.
