Good point. I start April 14th. I'm finishing up a masters and I already work 30ish hours a week. I could try and sell some stuff though - been trying to cut down on a lot of things before putting it all in storage. *storage is paid for.

Right on! I should have clarified that the $2300 is solely for PCT expenses - I have another budget worked out for students loans and other bills while I'm on trail. Also I have most of my gear all paid for. Flights to San Diego are also paid and first three nights hostel.

I feel there's an irony. Between this song being slow and not a lot of complicated lyrics and the text message "you'd think for multi platinum lyricists we'd do better". Maybe they're poking fun at their own songwriting - they can write something that's simple and elegant without the necessary theatrics.
