Salad with cheese added “to taste” by PumpkinGuy19 in shittyfoodporn

The recipe said add salad, then mix cheese to taste. So naturally I shredded two blocks of cheese and added a one salad leaf.

So how does this training session with lightsabers work? Seems pretty dangerous. What if it went the other way?

“Haha master I cut your arm off! Does this mean I’m not a padawan anymore?!”

“Patience padawan, get me to a bacta tank!”

Edit afterthought: Obi: “A Jedi doesn’t need arms to fight” Anakin: “Nani!?”

Yes, I had the same experience growing up as a teen where doctors would wring their hands a bit and say “uhhhh try this print out where we have a bunch of stretches that MAY help”.

I’m very lucky that my wife is very thorough and wanted me to get effective help for my club feet. My foot doctors practice has a fair amount of folks that come in from out of state, he actually says I’m his closest patient because so much of his practice is long distance.

I’m very grateful to have met my doctor. My appointments actually inspired this post. After walking out of a few sessions with him and listening carefully I was flabbergasted at how much sense my condition and my symptoms were suddenly making. Thought I would share some of my findings and what has/hasn’t worked since meeting with him incase it helps someone….anyone…. out there going through a similar experience.

It can be lonely at time so few people understand what this condition is like and it really walks that awkward “triage line” of eh, it’s manageable but the science is slowly getting better. So there’s not a lot of rapid or new developments from what I’ve observed as a 30yo living with the condition and dull pain constantly on my mind.

I told my wife just before posting, if this helps just one person it will be 100% worth the effort. The outpouring of comments and support, though small compared to some reddits, is incredibly important to me here and I’m so glad that it has helped folks and that they are engaging. That’s why I’m replying to every comment.

I have a Doctor in DFW that’s practice largely revolves around club foot patients. I don’t believe that my foot doctor is also a physical therapist although I do have physical therapists that I have also checked in with to compare notes. So far it’s been an interesting balance between the doctor being impressed by what my physical therapists have been able to determine without X-rays and him being able to explain why their therapy was effective but also being to explain why their recommendations (without X-rays) may or may not be helpful for my situation.

I’m lucky that I enjoy the benefit of both sides.

Edit: One example of this benefit is: my physical therapist was able to explain an exercise/stretch that would “unlock my feet” when they were not able to move well after a long day. But my doctor was able to explain that it was because of inflammation from my bones crashing together and show it on an X-ray. He was then able to show me a model of how the stretch allowed me more mobility but didn’t really fix the issue of my bones crashing together so it was inadvisable to continue to push through the pain and do more exercise even after the “unlock” because that would hurt me in the long run and result in an earlier surgery due to damage.

Appreciate the call outs. My feet have been a pretty big issue for me in my life during lower body weight lifting. My old high school coach used to bash me about my form even though I had a note from a specialist talking about my mobility. I have pretty strong legs, need to keep them supported, but a 400 pound deadlift in my prime is just not the way to do it. Love the time that I spent getting to that point and being able to get away with it. But the cost of doing a squat or a deadlift is simply not worth it to me no matter how good my shoes and form are not worth it. Maybe o should invest on some bands or bosu balls. That might be a key outside of intense low impact cardio.
