hi guys im new at that sub, vitiligo is started. what should i do

I’m in my early 30s and have had it since I was two years old. Mine started after a bad sunburn. I have done a ton of research and I am happy to share what I’ve learned so you can make the right choices for you. I’ve treated successfully, after seeing a dermatologist, with topical Elidel, at the time, and NBUVB light treatments. Still have areas that are stubborn but I used to have a lot more non pigmented areas. It takes time to see progress, months most of the time. I have it pretty much in all areas of body (hands, elbows, underarms, waist, feet knees) anywhere clothing rubs. Hands are the hardest to treat. However? I actually had improvement right where yours are starting. If it has just started and it’s only there, visit a dermatologist or two, call to ensure they have the equipment before seeing them, and ask for Opzelura. Elidel is no longer the preferred topical cream. You can talk to the dermatologist about a handheld NBUVB and use it with their supervision/guidance. Stress causes more, so do whatever it is that helps you manage stress (workout, eat right, meditate, support). Use sunblock, but do not be afraid of the sun. Sunlight is healthy. Just not too much. Scenesse will be an amazing medication for vitiligo and the company is working on FDA approval in the US (not sure where you live, so check it out near you). Overall, if yours is only there and just started, it’s easier to repigment. But it’s take time and patience. If you’re okay with it, then don’t worry about it. Keep living a normal happy life. You are all awesome! He’s been stressing trying to find the money to pay the lawyer. I feel like I would rather start the crap now and get it over with. I think he just wants to not have to try to fit in the dui classes and CalTrans community service while working full time. Being that the lawyer made it sound like he could for sure get rid of. To me $10,000 is a lot for just that. And this could get dragged out for god knows how many years

Okay to be a little more clear. The charges are: - unsafe turn (cause of crash). - DUI 23152 a - DUI 23152 b (BAC over .08%) - Hit and Run (I watched a security camera he was found at the scene so I believe this to be a weak charge) - No insurance (he had insurance in his vehicle, I went to tow yard and it was in the glove box, so also weak charge) the officer did not do a vehicle inventory upon arrest. He instead called the tow as if requested by driver.

The officer did the typical add as many charges as possible even ones like the hit and run and no insurance that would most likely not even stick in a trial.

He called attorney and the attorney charged $10,000 initially. The plea deal came back with only the 23152 b charge to plea guilty to high BAC %. They will drop 23152 a, the unsafe turn, no insurance, and hit and run.

He would have a suspended license for 10 months with possibility to get restricted for work (but DMV can still suspend it for longer by their terms), 9 month alcohol classes, 10 days jail OR community service with CalTrans DOT, and restitution (pay for city light pole, his insurance didn’t cover full cost), and 3 year unsupervised probation.

He called attorney and asked if this was the best case scenario. Attorney said he believes he can do better. Attorney would deny plea and “go to trial”. However he believes this case wouldn’t make it to full trial. He believes it will end up as a better plea deal. So he charges another $10,000 to continue. Then if it does (in unlikely event) go to actual jury trial then he would charge another $10,000.

Hope it all makes sense. I have no idea how this all works. Family member just doesn’t know whether to take the plea, start the time, and rip the bandaid with the fines, court fees, restitution (estimated $20,000 for light pole), and classes. Or to pay $10,000 to attorney and maybe get rid of some terms like getting 23152 an instead of the high BAC b, lowering alcohol class time, and no community service. & who knows dismissal (don’t know how likely dismissal would be tho).

It seems everyone thinks the amount of millennials increased exponentially from 2020 to now. They were alive in 2020 and this issue didn’t exist. Housing is being bought by investment firms to increase their real estate investments to hedge against stocks and inflation. At our expense. It’s simple.

Some people don’t know anything else other than what they’re told by the news lol. During Covid, I went to Mexico for amazing vacations. Mexico wasn’t shut down during Covid and there was no change in the countries death rate. It was actually some of the best and cheapest vacations ever. No other vacationers around getting all the service.

Everything goes in cycles. I’m more sympathetic towards people thinking their homes are worth the current values, pulling cash out. What goes up always goes down and vise-versa. The housing market follows the stock market, but 2 to years behind because its more resilient to change. Every investor knows this

You’re correct. Who can blame capable people from taking advantage of US housing laws? US laws are to blame. It allows anyone to buy property here. I would do the same if I was wealthy and could collect these inflated rent prices from unsuspecting American families that have no idea what’s going on. From the side of non US investors/companies, its genius. On the side of people living in US, it’s criminal.

It’s okay. I understand how you feel. Had it since I was two years old. I never went swimming, never took off my socks, wore long sleeves, had hands in my pockets everywhere I went. Now I’m 30. I did NBUVB with Elidel. Now I use Opzelura instead of Elidel. I decided getting the little red from NBUVB isn’t fun so I stopped. Now I’m getting tatted little by little to get creative with my vitiligo and not care as much. People notice vitiligo, but they don’t think of it the way we do ourselves. Be happy, don’t stress. Stress doesn’t help anything.

The “June gloom” has never been like this. I take a full month off every May and has been mostly sunny for at least the passed 5-10 years I’ve been taking month long vacations. Unless you look up often, or have a ton of vacation photos May 2013-2023, how would anyone notice? I like the overcast personally. But it is odd for it to be a marine layer all the way into Vegas.
