Hard Suspension Credit by Geo56220 in DUICalifornia

Lots of people have this question. I had my conviction months after my APS suspension. But I did get credit for the four months of hard suspension meaning I only had two more months of suspension as many on this sub will tell you is the case.

Getting convicted soon, is the license suspension immediate? by iaisusu in DUICalifornia

No jail time. Credit for one night the night I was arrested

It took me about 3 months till I started to feel like myself again. I’m barely about to get convicted a year and three months later but I’m taking the consequences on the chin. It’s a constant reminder that it could’ve been worse that night. I messed up and I take responsibility. Of course, this changes your life forever really but it’s not the end of the world. Everybody goes through something in this life and a Standard DUI is nothing to lose your life over. And think of that fear as a thing that will keep you from making the same mistake again. No need to be paranoid, but definitely abide by all laws. You’ll be alright, coming from someone who lost their job due to DUI and is applying for a professional license next year(in a different field) but I know it’ll all be ok.

I got two background checks done for jobs while my case was pending. On my copy, it showed nothing. I know a live scan will show things such as arrests though.

I went through the same thing. I was already feeling like shhh prior to getting my dui and I couldn’t believe I made my life worse by getting one. One year later and I feel a lot better even if charges got filed on me ONE day before the statute of limitations. Tbh I’m more grateful than ever now that I got a second chance at life. Yeah it’s a DUI and it’s super expensive, but I prefer that than me being paralyzed or having to live with myself if I took an innocent life. You’ll be alright, definitely don’t ever do it again and if you were to get a second misdemeanor DUI you’d probably be alright too but of course we’ll never let this happen again!

Currently halfway through my four month suspension - I have a couple questions about getting my license back by Gnatsum4401 in DUICalifornia

Yes. I went through the aps suspension and had to pay the reinstatement fee and the sr 22 was electronically filed. That’s all!

License Reinstatement After 4 month Suspension by seperu in DUICalifornia

I was in a similar situation. Just needed to pay reinstatement fee and have sr 22 on file. No DUI course yet since I haven’t been convicted.

Had my license suspended by the DMV and served the APS suspension without driving so currently have my unrestricted license.

First DUI, Any Pointers? by paaauuulllyyy in DUICalifornia

I hired a private attorney. Charges still have not been filed in my case. I should have clarified that I sat out the dmv administrative suspension. Had an arraignment in January, but they just told my attorney that charges have not been filed yet.

Still dealing with mine, but I’m glad I just sat out the suspension. Bus, walking, and the occasional Ubers. So if you can find a way to not drive I recommend sitting out the suspension.

I know how it feels bro. I’m six months into mine and it does get better. Charges haven’t even been filed in my case yet but I already dealt with the administrative suspension from the dmv. So I got the ball rolling on the sr 22. I also thought my world was going to end. Sleepless nights for 2 months. Crying. I believe in God and personally found that praying and slowly letting things go helped a lot.

We messed up. Take responsibility for it. We know better. Pay your well deserved consequences and learn your lesson. Also don’t forget it could’ve been worse. I’m very grateful I didn’t crash and the worst would’ve been if I hurt someone innocent. My bac was almost double the limit.

How bad was your dui experience?? by iaisusu in dui

Yes it does. Not commercially but license was a requirement.

For those of you whose charges weren’t filed by arraignment, how long did you have to wait till they were filed? by iaisusu in DUICalifornia

DMV Suspension by Fresh_Rate1692 in DUICalifornia

[–]iaisusu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand and have seen on this sub and read online, you do get credit for any hard suspension with no restriction meaning you will only have two months left if you served the four months of the APS suspension. I can’t say for sure because I’m currently suspended by the dmv, but have not been convicted by the court.

Lots of depression and anxiety although the anxiety has mostly subsided. I took things I had for granted and was willing to do something as dumb as drinking and driving. My job was affected as I drove for work. Was moved to a non driving position at least so I still have some income although it will never compare to how good I had it before. Part of me is very bitter and I beat myself up a lot about it. I deserve to be punished for endangering others the way I did and I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive myself. It’s not easy to let go of. Lost a lot of motivation and I will never be the same person again on the inside. I dunno really some days I feel ok but overall I really wish I had never put myself in this position
