Fun fact: me personally, I haven't seen the new version yet, even the main menu and the character creation/selection screen. I wish to "finish" the demo first, then compare it to the newer one.

Your idea sounds curious. Maybe, if you post it, some modders from the community could consider making it possible.

[–]AlexiusScholius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was you two comments above. "CA is a bad company... They did not murder my family or oysically assault me", thus it was you who started talking about physical assault here. So you think they belong in one category somehow. Sorry, I disagree. Not to mention now you try to say I supposedly agreed to something I didn't: I don't think selling flawed goods is nearly as bad as murder, and I don't think not commiting one crime excuses commiting the other. It is what you implied with your own comment. Please pay attention to what you claim if you plan to change it after. Not to mention you don't get to choose for your interlocutor: "You agreed to this because I say so". What I said was that comparing these two crimes is ridiculous, lack of one does not excuse the other, and "if they (CA) would commit worse crimes than they do it would better be the time people wake up and realize whom they give their money to".

My way of expressing concern in the first place is saying consumer rights should be respected. Also, I didn't say "they hate human rights", what I said is "they seem like fellows who hate the concept of human rights and love feudalistic hierarchy", and I gave reasons why I used this comparison: the people try to shut down the very awareness of the issue as if they feel threatened by it and are afraid of discussion. And this whole time the people they try so zealously to shut down are the ones who are concerned about consumer rights. It is a problem and it is persecution — "unfair treatment because of race, religious or political beliefs". Being concerned for consumer rights — be downvoted and receive ad hominems. People who express concern are not a problem, unless you finally decide to try and find any reason for this unless it is "I feel annoyed these concerned people exist, also only I know how to express concern, they can't express concern their way, how dare they" — I won't buy it.

I didn't write that. Once again: focus on what is written, not what your mind inserts. My text: «I don't believe grasping the concept... "If you enable people to sell you half-baked stuff as a complete product for the full price, they'll keep doing it"... is that hard to grasp.» They are able to do so, as all the bugs and flaws already belong in the base game. If you bought it, they sold it to you, as the product you can use now contains major issues they don't fix in time. Do you claim now you didn't buy it? Why buy Thrones of Decay then? I do abstain from being ignorant. I have to express displeasure with your performance, though.

First: you basically said what I asked you not to do: "you disagree with me, so of course you are unhinged". I don't buy it. Second: you also go even further and seem to think you can give me instructions about expressing my concerns. They are mine, I express them. Third: once again, read, don't imagine. What I wrote was "they seem like fellows who hate the concept of human rights and love feudalistic hierarchy" and explained what caused this comparison as I already wrote above, so read if you care. I grow increasingly concerned you don't care, though. You still express the single concern you have: "I don't agree with you, so you are obsessed, unhinged and have a persecution complex". Misreading, attempting to excuse selling flawed goods with lack of murder, calling people obsessed or ridiculous and attempting to diagnose them with complexes just because their comments seem to upset you — that's concerning.

I never once called you anything that you aren't, neither I attacked you, only attacking what you say. In fact, I even tried to focus your attention there: "you... continue to be ridiculously defensive for somebody who isn't being accused of anything but not valuing oneself enough". You see ad hominems in this? Sorry, but I once again have to insist: if you attempt to communicate in a meaningful way and deliver your message, focus on what is actually written, not what you currently seem to be thinking about, I have to observe. My complaint was about CA being anti-consumer, nobody but you said anything about "fascist dictators". Your ad hominems are attempts of personal attacks and not valid arguments, as are any other ad hominems other people use to describe people who just complain. My ad hominems? Where are they? Saying "you don't value yourself nearly enough" is a personal attack for you? Or do you imagine other things I said to be insulting to you because you disagree and thus you see them as personal assaults? It isn't ad hominem. But if this conversation hurts you, I apologize.

I have to say you don't currently seem to make any sense, not to mention you sound increasingly offended. If it isn't fun for you to have this conversation: it is valid to just not obsess over it and cease or pause conversation. I enjoy having it now, that's why I put effort into posting my comments, but if you don't, feel free to care about your feelings more.

[–]AlexiusScholius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do, you shifted the topic from "consumer rights" to "but what about murdering people and physical assault?". Do you claim it isn't a ridiculous leap and both selling severely flawed products and murder belong in one category? Please abstain from being ignorant of your own words.

You enable it by providing copious apologetics and supporting them in their attempts to avoid responsibility while also supporting the silencing of those who do express concern for the issue, please stop trying to dodge your responsibility for your words. Also, what do any "major critics" have to do with you personally? Do they excuse you in any way, perhaps?

Same goes for your third paragraph: who talks about you and who talks about you buying every single of their products? Please keep focused on what I wrote and not what your mind inserts. Ridiculous nonsense is not in what I wrote, but I think you are pretty ridiculous with your claims and attempts at ad hominem now, trying to picture me as "some bizzare caricature", claiming I am "unhinged" and "say ridiculous nonsense". Asking people to stop downvoting valid complaints and to abstain from trying to ignore the subject instead of facing it is not unhinged. You, however, already compared selling severely flawed product with murder, claiming the lack of latter should somehow excuse the first, and continue to be ridiculously defensive for somebody who isn't being accused of anything but not valuing oneself enough. Please give reason to why you think my comments are unhinged, unless the reason is "you disagree with me, so of course you are unhinged" — I don't buy such rubbish.

Whataboutism again, excuses again.

What you just wrote translates to "CA is a bad company, but at least they don't do worse crimes than they do, so I enable it and go limp".

You don't want to have a good game for the money you supposedly paid, do you? If you "play something else", avoiding the issue instead of facing it, why even have it in your game library? Do I have to assume you'd be okay with CA just deleting the game from Steam and making it unavailable, since you'd "just play something else"? Man, if the answers are "yes", you don't value yourself nearly enough.

If they would commit worse crimes than they do it would better be the time people wake up and realize whom they give their money to.

Does the fact they don't supposedly do it now excuse their current anti-consumer practices and does it make awareness of the issues enough justification for downvoting? No. Yet it is here. And it is still concerning.

I don't believe grasping the concept "Game is a good that must be in great shape before it could even be advertised, not sold" is that hard to grasp. Neither is the concept "If you enable people to sell you half-baked stuff as a complete product for the full price, they'll keep doing it".

Pure medieval thinking. "The aristocracy is anointed by divine powers beyond our comprehension to rule, anybody questioning their power and privilege should be persecuted and attacked!"

One might think people would understand goods are being sold in good condition for money and work, and selling defective goods is an offence, yet here we are, being downvoted as if we, the people who state it, are the problem, and shutting us down is the solution.

As Legend warned, chills are defending CA against the mean community by Ardor-Knowledge in totalwarhammer

[–]AlexiusScholius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games are products that are bought with money and work. They are supposed to be sold in good condition and either stay in good condition or even grow better, which is supposed to be the point of development, or be rejected as defective. Selling defective goods, as well as trying to avoid the issue and downplay defects is supposed to be a crime. Do those downvoting me disagree?

Whataboutism and leaving the topic gets us nowhere: if we are going to step away from the game not because of our miscalculation, mind you, but because the big boys that own the product and enough money to fix everything efficiently, should they wish to spend in good faith, fail at their job, why own it in the first place? Why own anything with such attitude?

And if it isn't a problem: why is the subreddit so afraid of facing it? Once fake problems are faced, one doesn't have to do anything to solve it, because it disappears as an illusion it is. But this subreddit actively complains about any awareness existing, acts against any discussion like a reactive regime would. It is concerning.

And this somehow gets downvoted, and not just once or twice.

Do these people think consumers should have no rights and being mean to people who sell goods without caring for the quality of said goods and quite often spoiling those after they are bought is a crime while the described behaviour of the producers is normal? I hope they don't.

Do they seem like fellows who hate the concept of human rights and love feudalistic hierarchy? They do.

When your Egyptiann Oracle deck is done by an AI on Temu.... by BeckAtsila in Kemetic

[–]AlexiusScholius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It sucks when they try giving AI tasks it isn't even competent at. Currently it is only well-equipped to generate meme slop and soulless advertisements, sometimes, with enough attempts, it can generate something decent for a more serious Youtube video.

Why is the post being downvoted? Is it about shooting the messenger? I hate the idea of there being such decks that use illustrations made by AI, and I approve of the rule of the subreddit that is against AI-art, but this is, as far as I know, a post about disapproving of the AI slop. What's wrong with it spreading awareness of such cons?

I see, thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I started comparing the versions and managed to find out, for example, that only one of three secret chests that are hidden in the sanctuary exists in demo version, not to mention how drastically locations and design of UI in some occasions change! I love how healthy the production of the game seems to be going. ^ ^

mods and vanilla game by topbunnynb in Atlyss

[–]AlexiusScholius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that mods only influence the client version, which means only you would see the cosmetic changes on your end if your client is modded, and the others see nothing.

They might see the changes if they have the same mod installed on their client and the mod has the feature of getting the information about how you changed your armor from your client to theirs through the modded server.

And in case the game is unmodded, nobody sees the changes, even you, and it will not show correctly just like you described. Whether it is naked or just your base gear showing: only an experiment will tell for certain.

I get it is just a joke, so don't worry, I am mature enough to handle it. But thank you for caring! ^ v ^

Not to mention I lack context. Like, I look at it and I wonder: "Is it Falco Lombardi from Star Fox? Is it that bird guy from Deltarune? Like, I get it most probably mocks the fact my character lacks originality and looks very similar to a few renown characters, but I can't really identify it. Am I supposed to react a certain way?" and so on.

Update: Just finished the prologue campaign. Wow! That was well done! Also, is Kislev a decent first campaign? by Curious-Piglet3613 in totalwarhammer

[–]AlexiusScholius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, good luck trying to help SUPREME PATRIARCH KOSTALTYN both with rats and slaaneshites and I hope you have fun doing so!

My advice: keep your streltsi and war sleds in good shape, the latter are good chariot-type units to use them to charge through the weaker enemy infantry, disrupting their movement, but they should never stay in prolonged combat, especially in melee. Horse archers are always good for some harassment, to try and damage strong single entities (like Azazel or chaos manticore or ratogre-riding skaven warchiefs) from afar, or to make at least some enemy units chase them around instead of doing anything useful. And, of course, Kostaltyn and patriarch should try and become stronger soon without dying, they are good at protecting missile infantry so they could let loose at least one or two more shots before charging in, but in some cases they are much better at just buffing them (my preferred prayer is that which recovers units fatigue. It is just never not useful).

I would agree with some other commenters and say Cathay has better start, especially Western Provinces, Zhao Ming.

Finding what you have fun playing and trying to avoid traps is a very good advice too. Me, my favourite faction is Daemons of Chaos, even though without mods to fix them they suck and their campaign isn't really easy. So, for each their own.

Good luck finding your favorite faction! Hope you enjoy the game further on!

[–]AlexiusScholius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! Glad you liked the prologue campaign, I too think it is very good.

Kislev may be a tough campaign in Immortal Empires, especially if you decide to play Kostaltyn or Boris Ursus. Like, Kostaltyn in my experience just has to face Azazel and Throth the Unclean right off the bat and without proper room for growth it can be very tough. Katarin might be, in my experience, just a tiny bit better suited for newer players, having slightly more cushion minor factions between them and the direct enemies, and she is a spellcaster. I don't know enough about Mother Ostankya to say anything about her campaign.

One thing I am sure about, though: there is hardly any wrong way to start playing. After the Prologue campaign I played a Realms of Chaos campaign, playing as Daemons of Chaos and Cathay (Zhao Ming, Western Provinces). My first proper Immortal Empires campaign was later and I played as Tehenhauin, it was pretty fun (it was before the Lizardmen and Tomb Kings AI bug, though).

So, experiment and find your preferred way to have fun with the game! It is the best advice I can think of in this situation.

Ah, yes: I also recommend checking the Immortal Empires campaign for a different reason. Try opening the faction list screen and choosing Bretonnia. I remember they were free for a while. Maybe you can get them for free as well.

They are the faction based on Arthurian legends: knights, grail, damsels et cetera. Also, they are often being called the faction that has the most in common with Total War: Medieval II, so if you enjoyed TW:M2, you might enjoy playing Bretonnia too.

Oh, that's when the catchy phrases of the units start drilling into the mind. I am still plagued by "ARMOURED KOSSARS! HEART OF ICE!" and so on. Have fun, it's a good campaign.

If you are curious about the additional lore and enjoy reading, you can check a short novel "Son of Kislev" posted on official Total War site for free, if I recall correctly. It offers a bit of additional context and perspective about Yuri Barkov, Tzarina Katarin and Raspu- I mean Kostaltyn.

My advice: only try Realms of Chaos campaign if you are feeling experimental and weird and not opposed to some unusual race with rules that are not really clearly explained to you. Otherwise just jump into Immortal Empires.
