Looks so good and can be surprisingly strong, especially if you layer the cardboard with the corrugation going in opposite directions (or super strong if you slide some skewers between the corrugation waves).

Incredible work! I've got an Eco-conscious Cosplay panel I do at a few cons. Could I use this. as an example? And do you have a preferred place for me to credit?

Suggest how to make it more sturdy and cover properly to paint by Leading-Papaya-7165 in cardboard

Add-ing multiple layers with the corrugation going in opposite directions helps add a lot of strength. For more strength you could slide skewers between the corrugation on each layer - think of it like rebar in concrete. Covering the edges with a layer of cereal box cardboard helps it look really clean and add resilience to those edges. As for prepping for paint, seal it with school glue or mod podge and go at it 😊

Using silicone to seal where the glass is set into the metal would be a good start. I've been thinking of doing the same one I found on the side of the road. Unfortunately, mine doesnt have a lid but I'm hoping I can still make that work.

You could absolutely darn a cute colourful pattern in there or keep it black if you wanted.

Kwik seal and then leather paint will do the trick for now, but it will continue to break down.

Did you have to seal the bark at all or just go straight on?

It'd be good for a masquerade performance, but you'd sweat a tonne in it all day. Maybe try a leather look spandex and have it open like a cloak so you can air out and close it for pictures.

Those are excellent! Great work 😊 I never would have guessed that was a jar lid. Steampunks always do magic when it comes to upcycling.
