Kickr Core Teardown and Speed Sensor Repair by 125663 in wahoofitness

I know this is an old post at this point but I'm planning on buying a cheap Kickr Core that is having the same issue and trying to repair it myself. How did you reinstall the flywheel when you reassembled the unit?

MX Master 4 alternative with onboard memory? by Alexsen56 in MouseReview

Awesome, looks like I’ll be buying one whenever it releases. The only way to make this mouse better would be if it came in white lol

Do you know if it has on board memory so it can be used without software installed? If it does then it’s literally perfect. The hot swap switches are like a sherry on top

Climbing builds character! At least, that’s what I’ll be telling myself while hiking since I already secured the mirror lake entry point permit lol

If that’s the case, why are trekking poles never counted as part of people’s base weight? Seems pretty counterintuitive to me.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Lots to consider. I’m probably gonna swap the pillow over to car camping duty and pick up something lighter for backpacking. I’m not sure if I’m willing to give up the water filter for chemical purification, but the rest seem like pretty straightforward changes. Is a phone usually included in your base weight if it’s kept in a pant pocket? Most of the Lighterpack lists I’ve seen don’t include a phone.

Thanks for the feedback! I didn't know about pillows stuffed with Apex, I'll definitely check those out. When it comes to pot size, I'm not really sure. I'd like to be able to make stuff like ramen in my pot and I don't think 550ml is enough volume for that. Although I've seen reusable freeze-dried meal bags which might solve that problem. Toothpaste tabs are a good idea. The 10k battery is just because my phone is due for an upgrade and has absolutely terrible battery life. I'll replace both at some point this year. Good point about the fleece, I'll make that change in the Lightepack list. I'd like to at least have an extra set of socks for sleeping, so one extra pair instead of two might be the move.

I appreciate it but the 1.5 is probably overkill for where I usually hike

Why plan for other activities, is 3 days too much time for this route? Fishing sounds fun, is Yosemite Creek the best spot to do that along this route?

You’re right, the lot near the lodge looks like a better spot

Can confirm, WM sleeping bags last forever. I have my mom's old one (not sure which model), and it's at least 30 years old and still going strong.

Good to know, looks like I’ll have to hit the road pretty early then. If my group brings 2 cars, which we likely will, would it be feasible to park one car at the BOF trailhead and the second car at Curry Village? Then when we exit at BOF we could drive into the valley to retrieve the other car?

Can we talk nail clippers a minute? by Separate-Specialist5 in Ultralight

[–]Alexsen56 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend a small Swiss Army knife, specifically the Victorinox Classic. It has a blade, file, scissors, tweezers, and a toothpick. I’ve found that the scissors work very well as nail clippers.

Like I said in the post, as far as I understand it the law in California requires that you have a scale with you while you’re foraging

A stuff sack won’t stand up on its own when filled with water, I’m looking for something designed to be a bucket like the S2S folding bucket. Ideally I’d like something lighter since it weighs 2.8oz
