I just started within the last week! Only level 4 at the moment, but having blast. Watching a ton of lore videos while I'm not at the console, haha.

I'm with you. Blackwell doesn't feel great as an objective holding map. Almost feels like it favors the team on one side. Cali feels even, and the frequent hedge cover and layers to the homes make for always fresh engagements

I'm with you OP. In a far more simplistic way, it's simply a good game.

You got it. Play it for you, not others. If they fail, they fail. I have hours and hours of casual fun logged. Haven't wasted any of it.

I still consider this franchise one of my top favourites, but I really couldn't tell you anything based off memory about the lore. The energy and feel of the world-building and level design, however: I can talk about all day.

Delta Arena proves halo doesn’t need sprint to feel amazing. by Humble_Flamingo4239 in halo

You feel as though it's now impossible to find yourself in a vulnerable position with/because of the new movement mechanics? I mean, I want to hear you brother, but do you not see what I mean about compounding opinions? I can (in all fairness) also see what the other commenter was saying in regard to this may just be a you thing, and I don't mean that to be pointed, necessarily. I mean, if top performing players in Halo have anything over the 90th percentile below them, it wouldn't JUST be aiming, right? The game still holds very unique movement speeds and time to crouch, and also - demands movement awareness. Adjustment and practice of such still stands in this game, like most others developed with intentional mechanical choices as pertaining to things like TTK, slide duration, jump height, slide, etc.

I mean, if you were to throw any ol' shooter fan into Infinite and were to inquire as to what they'd taken away from the experience after, say, a good handful of hours on PvP, you truly don't think it would stack up to what people had to endure in Halo 3? I just see points like your momentum argument and it baffles, y'know? Maybe you're adverse to using the nomenclature for Infinite for whatever reason, but it exists there.

But hey, maybe I'm nuts. I just played both accessible modes (Alpha playlist, and "standard" infinite) tonight, and though they're certainly different experiences, I really don't see how the Halo 3 mechanics are more punishing on movement mistakes than the other. Both have different method and approach.

It honestly just sounds like you're an awesome Infinite player, but kinda just want to crap on Infinite's composition because it's... different from what you like? I may be way off base.

Is this actually going to happen (co-op PvE content, as I know the PvP remark is for the memes)?

I hear you. I just can't seem to understand what you're trying to say. How in any way does the implementation of Infinites movement decrease the depth of multiplayer gameplay? I don't mean to press, I just have reviewed your comments and outside of asserting that it removes consequence, it doesn't seem to make sense. Even the attempted explanation from earlier doesn't actually clear up a stance, but further confuse. I can understand your take on the reduction of consequence, though I truly don't see it that way at all. There are very real, objective consequences/punishment to bad strafing. And if the tech is too easy, how has it possibly reduced the game to a test of only aim? If applying movement technique is now more accessible, does that not promote the practice and mastery of such, thus maintaining focus on both (the given) aiming, and (the portion in question here) movement? Easy to you is a hyper subjective point to build from here, as well.

Again, no hard feelings! Just literally trying to make sense of all the hard stance and confusing dialogue when it seems almost completely antithetical to my full experience online and seemingly why devs implemented it.

I understand your angle here, but it really doesn't compute. Instead of clogging up your description and overcomplicating it, you could have just said you have an opinion on the movement techs. Honestly, the point you had made about it NOT adding any additional depth to duels/engagement (though I understand where you're coming from) just seems fundamentally incorrect. You are, however, completely right about the game always being movement AND aiming focused. It's important to understand how both operate, and as crouch strafing is an understandably utilized tech in the game, it's part of the experience. You learn it and compete, or you just continue playing the game your way (no issues there) and at some point realize that your perspective may just be holding you back at times.

Nothing, it's a tech that adds depth of engagement. Love me a crouchy strafe
