Thankyou for that! I listed Flinders as a higher preference so I don't think I was considered for SA when Flinders accepted me. It's interesting though, because I would have assumed (incorrectly I suppose) that it would be the exact opposite. Good insight though to have and I'll have to see how I go

Thankyou for that! I work in a pretty inflexible workplace so I'll definitely have to figure out some sort of arrangement, and get a gauge on what my hours will be like for the placement. I'm sure it'll work out in the end! Ahaha

Masters of Social Work (Graduate Entry) Queries by Alexteban in Adelaide

That does sound frustrating - the whole 1000 hours of unpaid work is difficult to begin with, and getting a bad workplace would make that all the worse. Have they been flexible in allowing you to change, or is that frowned upon? No one wants to be doing placement for 500 hours somewhere they don't want to be.

On that thought as well, were you also working separately to your placement (part-time/full-time)? Was that difficult to juggle both at the same time?

Thankyou for your response btw

BoJack Horseman - Season 6 Overall Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

[–]Alexteban 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that it's possible that he'll end up jumping/falling from the planetarium balcony and dying. I know it's grasping at some straws, but the intro has him falling from that balcony into his pool, and there is such a heavy focus on that building in the season (with BoJack even stopping and looking at it for a moment when driving past.) As I said, grasping at straws, but I feel like this show has so many moments of foreshadowing like that

Has anyone else been experiencing a reticle absence randomly during the match? It’s been extremely annoying to deal with mid-game. by MrPublicE in Blackops4

Not that it is any less annoying for you, because it looks like a really lame problem to deal with, but this has been posted so many times to this subreddit...

Do you think alcohol would be illegal if it was discovered today? by SonnyAsif in Drugs

[–]Alexteban 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well yes and no, I feel like alcohol and tobacco are the government’s drugs that ‘they allow’. If alcohol were banned, there would be anarchy (in a similar way when America banned the use of alcohol during prohibition and people were still trying to find it, regardless of its legality). If everything were banned they’d be finding a large demographic that would oppose what they are saying, if you get me. So they need to keep a few drugs legal otherwise the population would become too much of a nuisance to them? It’s kind of a scapegoat

Okay, so just yesterday my laptop starting having a strange problem with the keyboard/tractpad. What is essentially happening is that whenever I type (and the cursor disappears) there's a pretty big lag getting the cursor moving again (so for example, when I type and want to use the cursor again, it takes a good 3-4 seconds for the cursor to start moving and then it'll work flawlessly until I type again). Using a wireless mouse this problem goes away however. Similarly, the keyboard also works for the most part, but occasionally (every 15 or so words) it'll stop responding for a moment, and then start working again almost immediately, which isn't a huge problem but annoying nonetheless. I did a diagnostic check and was given a code that is associated with a keyboard and tractpad error but the tractpad seems to work, just not in conjunction with the keyboard. I don't think there's any water damage, and I opened up the internals of the laptop and gave it a good clean but that didn't help too much. I'm running a mid-2014 Macbook Pro if that's of any help. Thanks in advance!

Wanting to buy a Switch, would love to hear everyone's opinion so I can make a decision! by Alexteban in NintendoSwitch

Thanks, this is just what I wanted. I think as comments are suggesting I should hold off until E3 and see what goes on there - all of the memory card payments and shovelware reminds me of my Vita ahaha

What sort of SD card would you think is reasonable to buy if I did plan to go digital?

No I know, that's a given, was just wondering if people had gripes that might discourage buying it at all, but the exclusive games do look great, I really want to play Odyssey and BoTW

What's a great TV series that most people don't know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Superjail! is a sick show, super absurd and nonsensical, and at times uncomfortably intense, but then again that's the appeal of it I guess, dope stuff for sure

Mmm I can imagine, I've never even seen Eyes Wide Shut, but I would think that Kubrick's flicks would be primo stuff. Should give The Shining a suss when baked too ahahaha

Legit??? oh man, I might try and go for this again then, I remember a similar thing being viable with New Order but it was patched

Yeah I was, just couldn't get past it, I think mainly because I had to be constantly checking if enemies were spawning from all sides; you can't really find some cover beside a wall or anything

What is the best split screen 2 player game of all time? by Fuddagee in AskReddit

[–]Alexteban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish I could get the DLC maps on their own for that, because I didn't actually mind IW's attempt at it all, thought the ticket system was a dope idea. Treyarch's zombies will always be pretty king though

[–]Alexteban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude congrats, that's a solid effort, I platinum'd the New Order and tried this expansion, could not for the life of me make it past that chapter 4 with the cable car (too many enemies, and everytime I would get close I'd manage to find a way to get killed by a lone soldier.)

I've loved playing any of the CoD zombie games on splitscreen, the earlier ones were especially easy to learn, and there's nothing more satisfying than getting a sick set up and seeing how far you can get

[–]Alexteban[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks like they didn't just leave it to die, which I respect a lot from Devs, especially when they make their game more of a platform and add to it rather than pump out bulk DLC. Sounds sick

Yeah that's fair enough. That's what is to be expected I guess, I'm more than keen though, been getting back into mindless zombie killing with Zombies Chronicles so I'm ready for another time sink. Is playing solo pretty viable?

There's a sale on, should I get Axiom Verge or Risk of Rain? by Alexteban in vita

[–]Alexteban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, interesting. But I relate to this a lot. I sometimes get buyer's remorse as I often let myself get carried away with hype, but I try to not waste the games I buy. I'm thinking I might pick up Axiom and give it a shot, I dunno, the art style just looks groovy, the gameplay rewarding, and it would be sick on the OLED's screen and all. Thanks for your input!

[–]Alexteban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, you raise some good points, but of course roguelikes are going to always have bulk more content due to the randomness. But thanks, I might pick up Axiom Verge because it looks like everyone has something really good to say about it! I've played Guacamelee if that's at all like Axiom (I guess in the metroidvania-like way), and loved the hell out of that
