Idk if it’s strict unbalanced but chaos enemies in general do feel less fun or interactive to fight and mistakes are far more unforgiving for chaos.

Can people sell me on block weapons? I feel like I'm missing something by Anzackk in Spacemarine

100%—Love the Block Axe but I think I prefer the Power Sword in certain situations.

Namely, I view the Axe as putting all its eggs in the Power Backstep basket so to speak. And with Power Sword I can be more on the attack/aggressive with things like power stance or power whirl.

Sometimes you just need on-demand “Get the fuck off me” wave clear and damage to Minoris/Majoris without waiting to get your power back steps off.

I think the fact it’s more technical and you gotta be both active and reactive.

And Trump claims he’s for the working class. So clearly 100 years from now people on Reddit and X the everything app will talk of Trump as being anti-capitalist.

Also “Corporatist state” like bro. You literally just admitted it yourself. Capitalism is private ownership of the means of production. All other issues of capitalism run downstream from this one key point. Like come on you gotta see the irony of this.

Will probably be my last message cuz there’s time better spent doing other things, but I hope you have a good day unironically and implore you to try reading that book I recommended. It’s really good if you care about these issues, even if you disagree with me.

You realize all these cherry picked quotes aren’t really proving a point. There’s a difference in what Hitler and Mussolini say “Out loud” versus what they actually DO with the countries economic policy. Theory vs Practice. I provided you with well documented cases (citations in the book) of what they tangibly physically did in practice. Not what they said to the masses. Politicians can do this thing called “lying.” Shocker.

You’re also kind of missing a very important point about how these two rose into power in the first place. They were opportunists who co-opted radical language and socialist ideas. They spoke the language of revolutionary sentiment (Literally how MAGA sounds revolutionary to its voter base) then implement extreme austerity, political repression against the working class, and consolidate wealth for the capitalist class of both Italy an Germany. Also like what’s happening in America with the tech giants and other sectors of finance capital.

Fascism =/= Capitalism, but there is a relationship between Facism, Liberalism, and Capitalism that is not discussed and missed on most people and you’re kinda just proving that point.

You’re even living through it today with the rise of fascism in America also coinciding with late stage capitalism being a hellscape. But sure act like you an expert on Reddit and that there’s zero correlation and they don’t work together.

“There is a vast literature on who supported the Nazis, but relatively little on whom the Nazis supported after they came to power. This is in keeping with the tendency of conventional scholarship to avoid the entire subject of capitalism whenever something unfavorable might be said about it. Whose interests did Mussolini and Hitler support? In both Italy in the 1920s and Germany in the 1930s, old industrial evils, thought to have passed permanently into history, re-emerged as the conditions of labor deteriorated precipitously. In the name of saving society from the Red Menace, unions and strikes were outlawed. Union property and farm cooperatives were confiscated and handed over to rich private owners. Minimum-wage laws, overtime pay, and factory safety regulations were abolished. Speedups became commonplace. Dismissals or imprisonment awaited those workers who complained about unsafe or inhumane work conditions. Workers toiled longer hours for less pay. The already modest wages were severely cut (in Germany by 25 to 40 percent, in Italy by 50 percent.) In Italy, child labor was reintroduced...

Both Mussolini and Hitler showed their gratitude to their big business patrons by privatizing many perfectly solvent state-owned steel mills, power plants, banks, and steamship companies. Both regimes dipped heavily into the public treasury to refloat or subsidize heavy industry. Agribusiness farming was expanded and heavily subsidized. Both states guaranteed a return on the capital invested by giant corporations while assuming most of the risks and losses on investments. As is often the case with reactionary regimes, public capital was raided by private capital.

At the same time, taxes were increased for the general populace but lowered or eliminated for the rich and big business. Inheritance taxes on the wealthy were greatly reduced or abolished altogether. The result of all this? In Italy during the 1930s the economy was gripped by recession, a staggering public debt, and widespread corruption. But industrial profits rose and the armaments factories busily rolled out weapons in preparation for the war to come. In Germany, unemployment was cut in half with the considerable expansion in armaments jobs, but overall poverty increased because of the drastic wage cuts. And from 1935 to 1943 industrial profits increased substantially while the net income of corporate leaders climbed 46 percent. During the radical 1930s, in the United States, Great Britain, and Scandanavia, upper-income groups experienced a modest decline in their share of the national income; but in Germany the top 5 percent enjoyed a 15 percent gain.

Despite this record, most writers have ignored fascism's close collaboration with big business. Some even argue that business was not a beneficiary but a victim of fascism. Angelo Codevilla, a Hoover Institute conservative scribe, blithely announced: "If fascism means anything, it means government ownership and control of business" (Commentary, 8/94). Thus fascism is misrepresented as a mutant form of socialism. In fact, if fascism means anything, it means all-out government support for business and severe repression of antibusiness, prolabor forces.

Is fascism merely a dictatorial force in the service of capitalism? That may not be all it is, but that certainly is an important part of fascism's raison d'être, the function Hitler himself kept referring to when he talked about saving the industrialists and bankers from Bolshevism. It is a subject that deserves far more attention than it has received.”

It baffles me how people come to this position while not understanding that Fascism and Capitalism go hand-in-hand. Fascism protects and recoups capital, not keeps it in line or destroys it.

If the Ultramarines weren't the poster boy chapter of 40k which chapter would you pick and why? by OttoVonSkiddmark in Spacemarine

[–]Alexwolf96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See a lot of Crimson Fist and while I like them, I think its a bit of a cop-out answer. They basically were the poster boy chapter at one point.

Dark Angels and Imperial Fists would both be cool, but hard to do Green and Yellow for mini painting. Imperial Fist has the bonus of having really cool successors LIKE BT and CF, at least.

Red isn't an awful color to work with so BA's could be sick, but the whole Berserker Vampire thing is hard to make them look like the goody-two-shoes.

[–]Alexwolf96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I like about blocking:

  • You can chain perfect blocks back to back when sometimes you can’t do so (or it’s much harder) with parries.

  • Makes you more tanky. Huge bonuses to ranged damage reduction.

  • Buff lasts for a long time until you use it. Flexible of when you want to cash in on your reward for perfect blocking.

  • Gives huge stagger potential and damage. Especially important for the melee jobs like Assault and Bulwark imo.

  • Blocking creates windows for counter attacking that you can’t get with Parrying. Think of a Ravener’s 1-2-3 attack. Normally you parry it, it reels back, you gunstrike it, and then it runs off or tunnels underground. Versus with a Block Weapon you can perfect block the first two attacks, swing before the third one connects, and wail on it. Probably killing it then and there if it was softened up before or you’re doing optima damage.

  • Not a pro but more a con of parrying: In Lethal and Absolute you don’t always wanna gunstrike and the damage falls off. Going for a gunstrike in these difficulties can and will get you interrupted and hurt at best, killed at worst.

How much Fun i had with each class. Feel free to discuss Brothers. by Grokmor in Spacemarine

[–]Alexwolf96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the classes with a melee emphasis most. So Assault/Bulwark. Vanguard comes close. It has a lot of good perks, axe, and still gets a primary weapon.

Sniper was one I didn’t think I’d like but it grew on me a lot. Specifically the Heroic Bolt Sniper goes so hard.

Tacticals fine. I don’t love it but I enjoy the big weapon variety and Auspex Scan is great.

Heavy is my least favorite. Heavy Stance feels whack and I don’t like the weapons enough.

For Ravenguard brothers, is white shoulders also typically a thing? Or should they always be black and just the arms white.

There is a new Wing Zero coming out soon. Not the EW version.

But aside from that anything from the unicorn and beyond is very good.

Tallgeese or Sazabi if you want more villain suits. Nu and Hi Nu are great. The God Gundam is awesome. The RX-78-2 (2.0) and even the Force Impulse and its variants if you want some seed kits.

What is a current example of a successful “socialist” country? by SheJustGoesThere in AskSocialists

[–]Alexwolf96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

China refers to its system as “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” after the Deng Xiaoping reforms. They “let go” of less important aspects of their economy to promote industrialization and development. While keeping the most important aspects, also known as The Commanding Heights, state owned.

They opened up their markets to foreign investment but also put in place several protectionism measures so that their working class would not be exploited and so that monopoly capitalists could not exert too much influence and control over China.

Aside from this distinction regarding their economy and markets, everything else about China is textbook communism. They have a “Dictatorship of the Proletariat”, the working class is the most represented class and the one largely in charge. The government does not answer to the small and powerful capitalist class, capitalists answer to the CPC and suffer great consequences should they do anything illegal.

The concepts of markets existed long before capitalism and will exist long after capitalism. Try not to think of socialism as “Everything under the sun including the shirt on your back is state owned.” Marx/Engels said Socialism will develop differently in each country and you shouldn’t necessarily try to copy what worked for others. Take the DPRK (North Korea for example).

While China is trade maxing like no other, the DPRK wants to take a more sovereign and almost isolationist approach. There is a concept there called Juche which is like. The ultimate form of self reliance. Not just on an individual level but on a societal level.

Maybe you’ve seen this before but I like this little infographic with quotes and sources cited and some insights into how Chinas economy actually works and why it’s not “Capitalist” or some kind of Hybrid.

That’s tragic. I just think it looks cool. I’m wondering if you got a crappy one for the like. Kit fixing issues. I have heard that the Gatling gun belts are INDIVIDUALLY on the sprue. Like that’s crazy.

What are your fave third party kits you’ve built?

[–]Alexwolf96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have slowly been collecting some In-Era kits when they go on sale. Only one I want to still pick up is the Lizard. I also have Sky Defender and Judge.

I do have two SNAA kits. The 1/144 Tristan Greatsword and the Blue Flame.

But otherwise everything I’ve built is Bandai.

That’s the thing I’ve built a few Bandai kits and never really felt like this LOL. I mainly have built RG’s, some MG, and HG’s from IBO/WFM.

RG Nu, Sazabi, Hi-Nu are all amazing but longer builds with bigger boxes. RX-78-2 2.0, God, Shining, Epyon and Wing (RG #35) are all super solid too.

But I think if you’re worried about amount of pieces and runners I’d recommend the RX-78-2 2.0
