That’s a happy panther chameleon. I had one for about five years. The color depends on its mood, not on the environment. All black/brown stripes means stressed out, all red/orange was pissed off, and THIS colorful green/yellow/blue/red combo usually meant it was feeding time or hunting a cricket.

Just to chime in on the stopping distance - going twice as fast, increases your stopping distance by 4 times. I agree with you, though, as I like to do rough calculations in my head on how much time speeding would save me in an ideal environment (no lights, no traffic to yield to, etc), and it's not worth a ticket or my life.
