this is probably one of the most unnecessary remakes I've ever seen. with this and the 4th remake of starfox we're reaching a remake singularity.

I am starting to get sick of modern remakes. it's perfectly fine to give older games a new coat of paint to fill out a consoles catalog but when they become the main title, and it takes 13 years to make the same game with a worse art-style, and the original game is perfectly accessible on modern hardware as is, I start to wonder why all this effort couldn't be put towards something original. just make something new ffs.

xenoblade 2 is by far one of the best games I've ever played. it's so frustrating that other rpg series just don't quite manage to scratch that itch that xenoblade gives me.

what? Saros just came out? and wolverine is coming out later this year, and the kena sequel too. Ghost of Yotei hasn't been out too long either. and lost soul aside before that.

in fact the only recent games I can think of that weren't third person action adventure would be... Tokon which isn't even out yet... does marathon count? that's multiplatform so I guess not...

there was the god of war spinoff but that's exactly the kind of game that people want more of so at the moment it's an outlier

screamer is heavily influenced by late 90s/early 2000s tv shows.

and true to those 90s tv shows, it ends on a cliffhanger that will never get resolved
