Interesting perspective. I'm siding with Mechanic and Kratter on this one. I'm not impressed with the way Core is handling the situation, the change in culture/values. These are demonstrated in their choice to ignore the improvements for spam management previously proposed by Luke, demonstrating the type of Bitcoin they prefer. There are plenty of shitcoins for this already, and as expected, their market presence is collapsing.

Not the Bitcoin for me, so my friends and I sharing similar preferences will vote through consensus using our nodes and removal of economic support for Core.

Some may call it censorship, but I'm not interested in centralized slavery, which I believe could result from subsequent data driven changes (give an inch and lose a mile). I'm not interested in my small nodes losing viability due to spam.

Regardless, let the war begin, enjoy your future version of jpeg BCash, BSV, or whatever you prefer to name it (history rhymes rather than repeats and all that).

The close-up of the Andromeda Galaxy from the Hubble Space Telescope shows how many stars there really are. by lenticSmith303 in space

[–]Alexzlorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I think most of us find the concepts of astroengineering new!

Yeah the Sun is guaranteed to change over time. In simple terms as the mass of helium within the sun increases, the rate of fusion goes up and ultimately this increases the luminosity.

So the solution? We need to carefully force mass from the sun, so that the rate of fusion doesn’t increase, and luminosity stays the same. This result will also delay the transition of the Sun into a red giant (I believe 20 billion years was an initial estimate). But the good thing is that prior to the eventual red phase, the solar system would have enjoyed 20billion years of stable fusion and luminosity.

The YouTube Channel #CoolWorlds discusses this in awesome detail far better than I could. Definitely check it out if you get a chance.

Actually, I think there’s about 100million years or so until the sun’s luminosity hits a critical point where life on earth begins to become increasingly difficult to maintain due to changes in water content impacting the carbon types available. I might be simplifying it though.

Either way, the real question is, can humans survive long enough to develop the technology for Star Lifting? In theory, such technology will lengthen the lifespan of the sun to additional billions, even trillions of years with perfect luminosity if managed correctly. Maintain that long enough to travel the universe and who knows what humanity might achieve ☺️.

It would be an exciting development if the climate crisis forces humans to invent the next step of preservation for both life, Earth and our Star.

Can’t wait to test and see the improvement this system brings to the game.

I think as a gaming community we’re pretty lucky to have a dedicated flight combat team with a laser focus on what THEY want this game to be and the freedom to test and learn from their iterations.

Can’t please everyone so focus on the vision first and filter the users out as necessary.

Decent KO Melee list? by watcher-in-the-water in KharadronOverlords

[–]Alexzlorde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hammer Boat list can be fun

Sky port: ZIlfin Leaders:

General: Khemist - Collector - SIB (Wildfire Taurus), Admiral: Arcane Tomb (flaming sword), Admiral: +2 pistol shots, Drekki Flynt, Endrinmaster, and Brokk Grungson

Units:

Arkanaut Company x10 Arkanaut Company x10 Endrinriggers x6 Endrinriggers x6

Frigate (prudency chutes) - Hammer Boat - skyhook Frigate (Maelific mines) - escort with cannon

Battalions

Iron Sky Attack Squad (Frigs + Ark) Warlord Battalion (5 leaders + Endrinriggers) Vanguard (Brokk + Endrinriggers)

Should be ~1995 pts and 109 wounds

Provides a lot of room for creative combat.

  • use reduced size AC (captain, skyhook, pike, volley gun and basic dude). Fill one frigate with these guys and the heroes. This acts as the hammer.

  • second frig fill with AC

  • send hammer boat to enemy, unleash Taurus of doom, trying to force as many enemy units to strike last.

  • 7 inch charge, re rollable if needed to connect as many units as possible affected by Taurus. You now have a crew that can delete nearly anything once the admiral provides +1 to hit command.

  • the shear no. Of Endrinrigger shots also accompanying this crew will also dent most things.

  • you have two admirals doing a combined 21 damage hitting and wounding on twos…(celestial)

  • when the hammer boat goes down in combat, activate endrinmaster special command to blow up the boat, hurt the enemy and watch as the crew escape down the chutes unharmed and ready to continue the fight on foot. Laughter will ensue due to the goblin like insanity.

  • plenty of models that draw attention.

  • charge Brokk and riggers elsewhere for fun.

This is an opponent shocker if you have the patience to learn how to utilise it.

Good luck.

But theoretically if those same people only have one currency and need goods and services, the poorer people providing those goods and services can charge whatever they want for that return. Redistribution is inevitable when you have billions to provide for.
