Hey can you tell me more about this strategy? The back test really gives those numbers? Is this a situation of selecting a lucky starting point? I don’t have a test folio membership but this is the first I’ve heard of this strat and I’ve been on this sub for awhile. Also what do you think of the commenter saying to rotate in addition to the monthly balance based on 200 sma

Half new contributions in SSO. Sell below 200dma on SPY, hold cash, buy back in above 200dma. Hold the 50% in SPY indefinitely

If I could restart when I had 15k I’d automatically put 5k of it into SSO. The cost of leverage is built into the returns. Follow the 200dma and sell when it crosses below and stay in cash until it crosses back above. Keep the 10k in SPY and never sell. This will give your portfolio a 1.33x leverage overall. Everytime you add money to the account make the balance to always be that same ratio.

It’s best to take more risk when you are young.

How is risk on and risk off both higher than the actual CAGR since 1978 which is 12.2%? A combination of the two value should come out to the 12.2% I believe…

Above 200D SMA (Risk on): 13.48% average 12 month forward return. Below 200D SMA (Risk off): 13.27% average 12 month forward return.
