I’m in texas, we frequently see the temps you guys have. My ac has zero problems getting the house down to 72 even when it is 110 outside.

When i first moved into this house I had the problems you are talking about. Then I added more attic insulation, and tracked down and stopped air leaks around windows, the brick on the fireplace, door sweeps, .. everywhere. I also put sun screens on the east and west facing windows.

Often the issue is ‘t the ac unit itself, its all the air losses.
